Day One - UK to Porto
Our river cruise begins as we fly to Oporto Airport, transferring to our overnight hotel in Porto.

Day Two - Embark in Porto
Discover wonderful Porto at leisure today, uncovering its splendid heritage including the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Old Town. Take in the city’s superb architecture, or enjoy a spot of shopping. In the afternoon, we transfer to the ship, enjoying a welcome drink and crew presentation. Why not join an optional Porto by night excursion? We embark the MS Miguel Torga late afternoon.

Day Three - Porto to Regua
In the morning, we have an optional guided tour of Porto to consider, allowing us to learn more about this fascinating city. We then set sail for Regua in the afternoon, sailing along the breathtaking Douro Valley, before enjoying dinner and an evening of entertainment on board tonight.

Day Four - Regua – Pinhao – Vega de Teron (Spain)
From Regua, consider an optional trip to Villa Real, known for its stunning religious architecture. We also visit the gardens of Solar de Mateus during our excursion, and then make our way back to the ship in Pinhao. Admire the stunning views as we sail to Vega de Teron. Tonight we enjoy a Spanish-themed evening on board.

Day Five - Vega de Teron - Barca d’Alva - Senhora da Ribeira
Join our optional guided tour of Salamanca, admiring its famous Old City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch in Salamanca, return to the ship in Barca d’Alva and sit down to a gala dinner this evening.

Day Six - Senhora da Ribeira – Ferradosa – Folgasa – Leverinho
Sample some of Porto’s amazing wines during an optional excursion, further discovering one of the world’s oldest wine regions. Take in the rugged landscape as we sail to Leverinho this afternoon, and enjoy a traditional folk-themed evening.

Day Seven - Leverinho – Porto - UK
Sail back to Porto, disembark the ship, and transfer to Oporto Airport for our flight home

Half Day: Porto Guided Coach Tour

This charismatic ancient port town is steeped in history and tradition, and is well-known for the production of the popular port wine. Located at the mouth of the Douro River and registered as a UNESCO world heritage site, the historic centre presents a collection of narrow alleyways, baroque churches and inviting squares, all of which we’ll get to experience on this exciting guided coach tour.


Half Day: Salamanca Guided Walking Tour

This Spanish city is packed with history and has a wide variety of attractions to enjoy. During this optional guided walking tour, we’ll visit some of the city’s most famous sights, such as the Old Cathedral, the Tower del Clavero, the Plaza Mayor and much more.


Porto By Night

Admire the great city of Porto by night. Join our coach tour of one of Europe’s oldest cities, taking in its splendid architecture and superb attractions. We explore the historical centre and learn more about this excellent city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.


Vila Real and Casa de Mateus

Discover the little town of Villa Real, situated in amongst the vibrant vineyards it is famous for. The town’s name means Royal Town this moniker is due to Vila Real’s status during the Middle Ages as one of the seats of royalty along with Lisbon. There are a number of impressive buildings in the town which hark back to this time in history, in particular the cathedral. We then continue to Mateus, known for the Manor of Villa Real and the excellent rose wine produced here. Explore the Manor Solar of Mateus with us, and enjoy a stroll through the pleasant gardens.


Wines of Porto

Porto is famous for its wines, especially Port wine, and we will enjoy the opportunity to discover these amazing wines for ourselves during our excursion. Explore some of the most well-known wine-making towns along the Wine Road and visit a local quinta (wine cellar) in Porto for a wine tasting experience.
