Lloret de Mar makes for a fantastic place to stay when looking for somewhere sunny in Spain, as it’s one of this area’s most popular holiday destinations. With its beautiful beaches and excellent selection of things to do, there’s sure to never be a dull moment when staying in Lloret de Mar.
Best known of all the Costa Brava resorts, Lloret has always been popular with British holidaymakers. A sandy beach and clear seas set the scene for a great holiday, and our time in Lloret de Mar will certainly be well-spent.

We’ll enjoy our included excursions during our holiday, taking a trip to a local market and Barcelona, making the most of our time here. We’ll be staying at the Hotel Helios, which is located a short distance from the beach, and will enjoy all inclusive accommodation.

In addition to all of this, we’ll have an exciting selection of optional excursions to indulge in.

Drinks are included in the dining room during lunch and dinner (water, beer, soft drinks and house wine). Drinks are included in the bar (soft drinks, draft beer, juice, house wine, spirits, tea and coffee). Bar will be open 10.30 – 15.00 for soft drinks and beer, and 15.00 – 22.30 for other inclusive drinks.

Itinerary

Day One - Depart UK
In the morning of day one, we’ll make the journey from the UK to Lloret de Mar, which will see us travelling via Calais. From there, we’ll travel through the night on our overnight express coach to arrive at the Hotel Helios in Lloret de Mar.

Day Two - Arrive in Lloret de Mar
We arrive in Lloret de Mar late morning and have time to settle into our hotel for our first night in-resort. (D)

Days Three to Fourteen - Lloret de Mar
We'll spend another 12 days in wonderful Lloret de Mar, enjoying two included excursions during our time here and making the most of our days relaxing in the sunshine. (B,L,D)

Day Fifteen - Depart Lloret de Mar
As our holiday draws to a close, we’ll say goodbye to Lloret de Mar and will travel to Calais. (B,L)

Day Sixteen - Arrive in UK
We’ll then return to the UK via Calais, and will take the coach back to our local joining points.

The Helios is in a flat area in the centre of Lloret, about 150 metres from the beach and promenade, ideally situated for the resort's amenities, which are all within easy reach.

Full Day: Barcelona

Barcelona is the fourth most visited in city in Europe and is a lively and exciting place to discover.  Especially remarkable is the work of architect Antoni Gaudí, which can be seen throughout the city. His best-known work is the unfinished church of the Sagrada Família, which has been under construction since 1882.

Half Day: Local Market

We take a trip down the Costa Brava to the town of Blanes. The local markets here are full of vibrancy and charm with a huge number of different stalls selling a wide range of produce. The fruit and vegetable markets are where farmers come from across Catalonia in order to sell their produce, the most popular crops in the region are apples, pears and peaches. There is also a fresh fish market near the harbour and an indoor market which sells a variety of souvenirs and trinkets. If you're not interested in retail therapy, the town has a charming marina and makes for a lovely place to stroll around and enjoy the atmosphere.

Optional Excursions

Barcelona and Guided City Tour

The Catalan capital, Barcelona is a fantastic city to explore at leisure, with its wonderful architecture and bustling atmosphere. Admire Antoni Gaudi’s incredible Modernist creations, including the as-yet-unfinished Sagrada Familia, and spend time shopping along the famous Las Ramblas boulevard.

During our time in Barcelona, we’ll enjoy an included guided city tour of the Gothic Quarter, so we can discover the history of the most cosmopolitan city if the Mediterranean -Barcelona. We’ll admire the amazing architecture here, and with delve into the interesting heritage of the city. Considered the historical centre of Barcelona, the Gothic Quarter is famous for containing attractions such as the city’s cathedral, a number of beautiful churches, the last remaining parts of the city’s Roman walls, and the Barcelona City History Museum.

Our expert guide will have plenty to tell us, including stories we’ll never hear otherwise. We’ll walk around the Cathedral, through narrow streets lined with traditional bars and cafeterias, artisanal and trendy shops. We’ll also travel by a number of important museums, such as the Picasso museum, and wonderful churches like the Santa Maria de Mar. Take in stretches of the city walls and the columns of an ancient Roman temple during our walk - you’re guaranteed to feel the atmosphere and the ambience of this historical city during our time here.

Barcelona Fountains By Night

One of Barcelona’s main attractions is the Magic Fountain of Montjuic. This fantastic fountain can be found in the Montjuic neighbourhood and is located below the elegant steps up to the Palau Nacional on Montjuic hill.

In the evenings, this fountain is transformed into a magnificent light and water show, with music to accompany this spectacular performance.

Besalu

Beaslu was an important town during the Middle Ages with its territory extending as far as France and being designated a historic national property by the Spanish government in 1966. The town is particularly famous for its 12th century bridge over the Fluvia River. It is a great place to wander through history with a number of buildings dating back almost 1000 years, still laid out in their original street configuration.

Girona

Girona is one of Catalonia’s major cities, and our trip here will be spent at leisure, so we can discover this excellent location to our hearts’ content. With lots of sights to enjoy, we’re sure to be kept busy during our visit!

There are the ancient city walls and towers, which mark the entrance to Girona’s Old Town, plus Girona Cathedral, dating from 1015. This cathedral is home to the world’s widest Gothic nave, although it isn’t the only prominent religious building in Girona - there’s also the Sant Pere de Galligants church, and the Collegiate Church of Sant Feliu.
