Day One - UK to Belgium
We’ll make our way from the UK to the Belgium area, via Calais, and will spend the night at a comfortable hotel.
Day Two - Belgium to Niederau
In the morning, we’ll continue our journey into Austria and to Niederau, where we’ll stay at the Hotel Austria for the next seven nights. (B,D)
Days Three to Eight - Niederau
Join us as we enjoy three included excursions, discovering Tratzberg Castle and Lake Achensee, as well as experiencing the Ebbs Flower Parade. We’ll also visit Rattenberg and at the Tyrolean Farmhouse Museum and enjoy a traditional folklore evening. (B,D)
Day Nine - Niederau to Belgium
Departing Niederau, we make our way to the Liege area for an overnight stay. (B,D)
Day Ten - Belgium to UK
We’ll return to the UK today, travelling via Calais and then continuing home. (B)
One of the oldest hotels in the village, the traditional Hotel Austria offer a warm Tyrolean welcome to its guests and is perfectly located to explore the scenic surrounding Wildschonau region.
Full Day: Rattenberg and Traditional Tyrol
Famous for its glass and crystal making, we visit Rattenberg, the oldest and smallest town in the Tyrol. We continue to the outdoor Tyrolean Farmhouse Museum for a fascinating glimpse into the traditional rural life of this region. After our dinner back at the hotel, we enjoy a short trip to enjoy a traditional local folklore evening.
Full Day: Tratzberg Castle and Lake Achensee Cruise
We visit interesting Tratzberg castle, set in a picturesque location in the Ziller Valley, where we learn of its long and eventful history, before continuing to Aachensee Lake to enjoy a scenic cruise amidst the mountain scenery.
Full Day: Tyrolean Flower Festival
The annual Ebbs Flower Festival is always a grand event, with the region represented with a fantastic burst of colourful flowers. With floral floats and vintage vehicles decked out with the best flowers of the season, this is a must-see event.
Full Day: Salzburg
The city of Salzburg makes for an excellent excursion, the city famous for being home to the Sound of Music. Enjoy the old town with its impressive fortress and cathedral, take time out to visit the house where Mozart was born or relax in the Mirabell Gardens.
There are numerous architectural styles to be found in Salzburg, including Romanesque, gothic, renaissance, baroque and many more modern styles. We’ll be able to admire this architecture throughout our visit, as well as exploring the city itself to see its many attractions.
Half Day: Scenic Kitzbuhl Drive
Enjoy a relaxing drive to Kitzbuhl today, as we travel through a stunning summer landscape to reach this charming medieval town. Take in the beautiful Alpine scenery as we travel, and, once we reach Kitzbuhl, explore this pretty town at leisure.
