|3 Included Excursions|
Explore the beautiful Italian and French Rivieras with their elegant resorts and picturesque villages on the Mediterranean coastline. Make the most of your time here with our included excursions to Portofino, Monaco and Monte Carlo, as well as Ventimiglia Market and Menton.
Alassio sits on western coast of Liguria, on the Riviera de Ponente or the ‘Coast of the Sunset’, and offers a pretty town centre as well as almost 2 miles of sandy beaches. Once a sleepy fishing village, the town still has some old-world charm with its pastel-coloured houses, palm trees, and delightful boardwalk, but it now also rivals some of the coast’s more fashionable resorts with its lively town centre full of shops and restaurants. The white-sand beach is perfect for soaking up some sun and admiring the views across the ocean.
During our holiday we’ll enjoy an included excursion to charming Portofino. Surrounded by lush Cypress tree clad slops, Portofino is famous for its brightly-coloured houses, high-end boutiques and exceptional seafood restaurants. Admire this picturesque harbour and the enchanting views over the Ligurian Sea.
We’ll also explore Ventimiglia, famous for the authentic market which attracts locals and tourists alike. Why not pick up souvenirs and gifts for loved ones at home, or simply enjoy the bustle amongst the market stalls. We’ll then explore the French Riviera with a visit to pretty Menton on the edge of the Cote d’Azur.
We’ll continue to explore the French Riviera with a trip to wonderful Monaco and Monte Carlo. Monaco, known to many for Grace Kelly’s marriage to Prince Rainier III, is famous for its glitz, glamour and style. While there, we’ll pay a visit to elegant Monte Carlo, with its amazing views and the opulent Monte Carlo Casino.
Make the most of your holiday with optional excursions to San Remo, famous for its summer flowers, and to Cannes and Grasse, home to the annual Film Festival. See your experienced coach driver for more details about the availability of these optional excursions.

Full Day: Monaco and Monte Carlo
Monaco is famous for its laid-back atmosphere, and we’ll certainly enjoy a relaxing day out here. There’s more than enough to keep us busy, too, with museums, gardens, monuments and much more to look forward to.
We’ll explore Monte Carlo, situated in a prominent position at the base of the Maritime Alps. At the western end of the resort is the world-famous Place du Casino, the gambling centre which has made Monte Carlo the playground of the rich and famous. Enjoy the breath-taking vista of the fabulous marina with its impressive yachts as well as the palace of Monaco.
Full Day: Portofino
Discover the pretty village of Portofino, hidden away in a peaceful coastal inlet shielded by olive clad slopes. The view from the harbour is unforgettable and one could spend the entire day admiring it.
We’ll be able to explore a wide range of attractions while in Portofino, including enjoying views of Castello Brown and visiting the Church of St. Martin, the Church of St. George and the Santa Maria Assunta oratory.
Full Day: Ventimiglia Market and Menton
Shop for great bargains in Ventimiglia’s street market and take a trip to Menton, the ‘Lemon Festival Capital of the World’. Located very close to the border of France and Italy, Menton is, in many ways, more Italian than French. It has its own microclimate, with it generally being milder than the rest of the French Riviera. Here, we’ll find pretty architecture and wonderful scenery we can take in during our time there.
Half Day: Cannes And Grasse
Once a small fishing village, Cannes is now a glamorous seaside town considered to be one of the best social hubs in Europe, as well as playing host to the annual film festival in May. Take time to check out the beauty and architecture of Le Suquet, with its cobbled streets and breath-taking views, or sit at street side tables and enjoy the favoured hobby of people watching up and down the lovely marina.
We’ll then continue on to Grasse, known for being France’s perfume capital. Surrounded by beautiful blossom fields, Grasse is a stunning destination and is filled with lovely sights, such as Saracen Tower, the International Museum of Perfume and the Church of Plascassier.
Half Day: San Remo
We’ll take a trip to San Remo, a city on the Mediterranean coast of western Liguria in north-western Italy, during our amazing tour of the Italian and French Riviera. Founded in Roman times, the city of San Remo is best known as a tourist destination on the Italian Riviera, with its Russian church and colourful harbour.
