Itinerary

Day One - UK to Germany
We join our coach today we’ll make the journey from the UK to Slovenia, travelling via Calais and continuing to our overnight hotel in the Aachen area.

Day Two - Germany to Salzkammergut area
Our journey continues as we travel down through Germany and cross into Austria, staying in the popular Salzkammergut region for an overnight stay. (B,D)

Day Three - Salzkammergut to Portoroz
We travel down into Slovenia, stopping en route in Bled, for chance to explore the town and walk to the shores of the beautiful lake, with the imposing castle at its centre. We continue to the Slovenian coast and pretty Portoroz, for our seven night stay. (B,D)

Days Four to Nine - Portoroz
Relax in pretty Portoroz, a charming Adriatic seaside resort and spa town. Enjoy our included  excursion programme, exploring city and coast, as well as fantastic venues including Postojna Caves and the interesting Lipica Stud. Optional trips will also be available, if you want to see more of the surrounding area. (B,D)

Day Ten - Portoroz to Germany
Leaving Slovenia behind, we travel northwards into Germany for an overnight stay. (B,D)

Day Eleven - Germany to Belgium
We make our journey up through Germany and into Belgium, where we stay for our final night. (B,D)

Day Twelve - Belgium to UK
We’ll make our way to Calais and continue our onward journey home. (B)

En route: Lake Bled

On our way into Slovenia, we’ll call at the charming town of Bled, for chance to explore and enjoy a stroll to see the beautiful lake, one of the most famous scenic spots in the country. The lake has the backdrop of the Julian Alps and has the historic castle at its centre.

Full day: Koper and Lipica Stud

We travel around the coast to visit the coastal port city of Koper. Enjoy a walk through the medieval town centre and Titov Trg, the bustling square, surrounded by Venetian style buildings, including the Praetorian Palace. We continue to the wonderful Lipica Stud, for an insight into the fascinating heritage of these graceful horses.

Full Day: Ljubljana and Postojna Caves

The colourful capital of Ljubljana is a delight to explore, from the bustling central market to the tranquil green surroundings of the Tivoli Park. Look out for the dragon symbols of the city, which can be seen on the famous bridge and admire the majestic castle, which dominates above. We’ll go on to Postojna Caves, one of Slovenia’s most visited attractions, a fantastic web of tunnels, passages and halls.

Optional Excursions

Piran and Izola

We take a short trip along the coast to visit picturesque Piran, located at the top of Slovenia’s tiny peninsula into the Adriatic Sea. See some of the Venetian architecture and atmospheric alleyways, before we go on to call at the quaint fishing town of Izola.

Rovinj

Join us as we travel to discover the picture-postcard coastal town of Rovinj, where you can admire the charming colourful houses and historic centre.

Trieste

Today we cross the nearby border of Italy to call at the lovely port city of Trieste. Set on a tiny part of the Adriatic coast, you can enjoy a stroll to see the medieval old city and neoclassical quarter.
