Day One: Home to Kidderminster
We’ll make our way from the interchange to Kidderminster, where we’ll check in to the Mercure Bewdley the Heath hotel and will enjoy a welcome drink before our evening meal. (D)
Days Two to Four: Kidderminster
We will spend the next three days in the in the hotel close to the town of Kidderminster, during which time we will enjoy two included excursions on two of Britain’s finest antique railways.
We travel on the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Steam Railway through the beautiful countryside of the Cotswolds before arriving at the Georgian regency town of Cheltenham. While there you will have free time to explore and enjoy this pretty town where you can see the former spa pump room in Pittville Park.
The other classic train line we will travel on is the Severn Valley Railway. We follow the beautiful River Severn from Kidderminster to the town of Bridgnorth taking in historic landscapes and pretty little villages. We then visit the market town of Ludlow which has a variety of historical architecture and fantastic independent shops and local produce at the town’s market.
We will also have free time to enjoy our hotel and its surrounding area in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside.(B,D)
Time to say goodbye today; we depart after breakfast and make our way to the interchange before returning home. (B)
Mercure Bewdley The Heath Hotel

Full Day: Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway and Cheltenham
Join us as we take a delightful journey on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway through the pretty scenery of the Cotswolds. We’ll enjoy a journey on this train all the way to the Regency town of Cheltenham, where we’ll have some free time to explore. Cheltenham is famous for its stunning Regency architecture, with a huge range of listed buildings - such as Cheltenham Masonic Hall. There are also lots of museums here, and many shopping opportunities!
Full Day: Severn Valley Railway and Ludlow
Excursion including a historic journey on the Severn Valley Railway, following the meandering course of the River Severn, from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth. We go on to visit the market town of Ludlow with over 500 listed buildings and magnificent castle ruins the town breathes history at every turn.
