Day One:
We start our trip by travelling to The George Hotel in Chollerford via the interchange, enjoying a tasty evening meal after arrival and check-in.

Days Two - Four:
We spend three days in the town of Chollerford, with three great included excursions to enjoy. We take a trip to Alnwick Castle, where you have the choice to explore the castle's fantastic history inside or the beautiful gardens that surround the stunning castle.

We travel along nearby Hadrian's Wall, visiting a Roman Fort and the town of Hexham a historic market town known for its Abbey before continuing onto Corbridge. We also visit Tynemouth, the town is known for its nearby beaches, pier and lighthouse and the ancient castle and priory.

You'll have plenty of free time to enjoy the area around the hotel, the countryside here is notable for a number of ancient ruins and the scenery of the countryside.

Day Five:
Following breakfast at the hotel we will begin our journey home via the interchange.

There’s also the opportunity to discover fantastic countryside and astounding scenery on one of the many fantastic trails into Northumberland National Park. Otherwise take in the history, beautiful architecture and great shopping and entertainment of Newcastle, just over half an hour’s drive away or just over an hour by public transport.

Full Day: Alnwick Castle or Alnwick Garden

Join us on a trip to Alnwick – once the administrative town for the whole of Northumberland. Here you can choose which fantastic attraction to visit – majestic Alnwick Castle, once an important fort and more recently used as one of the settings for the Harry Potter films, or the stunning Alnwick Garden, with the tranquillity of the Cherry Orchard and the excitement of the Grand Cascade, there is plenty to see here!


Full Day: Hadrian's Wall

We’re off exploring Hadrian’s Wall! Accompanied by our knowledgeable guide, you won’t miss a thing as we travel along the route of the wall. We’ll pay a visit to Chesters Roman Fort, the beautiful medieval town of Hexham where a new visitor centre has recently opened at the beautiful Abbey and Corbridge – a delightful village with numerous shops, tea rooms and a historic church!



We take an excursion to the town of Tynemouth, for its size the town has a fantastic array of attractions. Walk along Tynemouth Longsands, one of the finest beaches in the country, if not Europe, or stroll out to the town's lighthouse at the end of Tynemouth pier which extends almost half a mile out to sea. The town's other major attraction is the castle and priory, these eerie ruins were originally built almost 1500 years ago and since then has been the place of a huge number of important events which you can learn about while here.
