Agrigento is an ancient town dating back to the 6th century and is a wonderful showcase for Sicily’s past. Discover the valley of the Temples stretching along a ridge to the south of the city surrounded by olive groves, a sight worthy of comparison to the Acropolis.
En route Syracuse And Catania
Sicily’s second largest city, Catania sits on the island’s east coast and features amazing views over the Ionian Sea. The dramatic Mount Etna volcano serves as a backdrop to the city, which also enjoys some excellent examples of Sicilian Baroque architecture, including the ornate cathedral and the Basilica della Collegiata.
Catania is also home to many stunning historical attractions, many dating to Greek and Roman times. There’s the Greek-Roman Theatre of Catania, the Greek Acropolis of Montevergine, the remains of the Roman Aqueduct and Forum, and countless Roman baths.
Syracuse was once the largest in the entire world during ancient times - even surpassing Athens and Corinth. It is known for having been incredibly important during these times, which can be shown by its elegant architecture, varied culture and rich history. A truly beautiful location, Syracuse is an incredible place to visit, with its mixture of chic pavement cafes, mesmerising architecture, historical attractions and excellent shops.
Full Day Discover Montalbano's region
"Inspector Montalbano" is a popular TV show both in Italy and here in the UK. Salvo Montalbano, the police chief inspector of the fictional town of Vigata. Much of the show was filmed in the province of Ragusa, and Montalbano's headquarters are actually in Scicli. Join us as we explore this beautiful corner of Sicily, learning more about the TV show, but also simply enjoying the true Sicilian lifestyle and architecture.
Famous for being Europe’s tallest active volcano, Mount Etna is a magnificent sight. We’ll visit Mount Etna during our time on Sicily, and so will be able to experience the sheer scale of this awesome volcano.
For the adventurous there is the chance to reach the summit at an additional cost.
Pompeii Guided Tour
Pompeii is famous the world over for being the ancient city that was literally stopped in its tracks by the exploding volcano Mount Vesuvius. The volcano’s lava caused mass destruction and devastation to the city, and to the nearby Herculaneum and many other ancient towns, but this also meant that life here was very well preserved.
Today, Pompeii is a marvellous example of Roman life, with the streets, houses and public buildings showcasing how Romans living here would have carried out day-to-day activities. We’ll take a trip to Pompeii to examine all of this, entering the famous archaeological site to discover the remains of art, pottery, furniture and various tools that have been discovered since the catastrophe of 79AD.
While much of the city is still submerged, we’ll be able to marvel at its incredible discoveries.
The Amalfi Coast is an absolutely stunning stretch of coastline in Italy, and it provides some of the best views of the Sorrentine Peninsula and out over the Tyrrhenian Sea. We’ll take a drive down the Amalfi Coast in order to admire these breath-taking views.
Half Day: Taormina with Guided Tour
Join us as we visit the fascinating mountain-top town of Taormina. The town overlooks two sweeping bays and is home to a stunning Greek Amphitheatre, which is still used for concerts and plays to this day.
We’ll discover a town that is full of restaurants and shops, so we’ll be able to enjoy a delicious bite to eat and some excellent shopping opportunities. As well as this, we can enjoy the lovely atmosphere of this picturesque town with help from an experienced tour guide.
Our guide will show us the local sights, many of which relate back to the town’s fantastic history. There have been some very notable archaeological finds in Taormina over the years, including the Greek Amphitheatre, as well as the town’s Saracen castle, the ruins of Taormina’s ancient walls and many other ancient finds.
Half Day: Teatro Tasso
Enjoy a true taste of the Neapolitan Riviera at the spectacular Tasso Theatre musical show. A medley of popular Neapolitan song and dance that will certainly set toes tapping!
This colourful show will give us an evening of fantastic entertainment, with music and dance to take in. This traditional Sorrento musical makes for a superb night out, complete with local traditions, folk dancing and some of the most famous Neapolitan songs to enjoy.
Everyone is sure to have a great time, with traditional dress, spectacular dancing and wonderful music to make the most of - the ideal night of entertainment during our holiday!
Limoncello factory visit and tasting
One of the many things that Sorrento is known for is limoncello, a delicious drink that can be enjoyed after a fantastic meal in the town. Limoncello is made with lemon rind, water, sugar and alcohol and is one of the most popular digestifs in Sorrento.
While in Sorrento, we’ll be treated to a guided tour of a local limoncello factory, so we can find out more about how this tasty drink is made.
