The Cotswolds is home so some truly spectacular gardens and on this new midweek break, we’ll enjoy visits to two of these. First we go to Painswick, whose grounds contain the last remaining example of the European style Rococo gardens in the country. We then visit the private gardens of HRH Prince of Wales at Highgrove.

Itinerary

Day One - Home to Enstone
We’ll make our way from the interchange to Enstone in Oxfordshire, where we’ll check in to the Heythrop Park Resort Hotel and will enjoy an evening meal. (D)

Days Two to Four - Enstone
One day will be taken up with an excursion to pretty Cirencester, the 'capital' of the Cotswolds which is dominated by the cathedral-like parish church. Later we continue on to visit Highgrove Gardens, the private gardens of HRH The Prince of Wales. Led by an expert guide we tour the highly individual gardens that bring to life the Prince's horticultural ideas. Another day takes in beautiful Painswick Rococo Gardens, designed in the 1740s, a visit here will take you back to the elegance and sophistication of the early 1700s when gardens were fashionable, theatrical sets providing backgrounds to decadent garden parties (B,D)

Day Five - Enstone to Home
Time to say goodbye today; we depart after breakfast and make our way to the interchange before returning home. (B)

Full Day: Cirencester and Highgrove Gardens

Excursion to pretty Cirencester, the 'capital' of the Cotswolds which is dominated by the cathedral-like parish church. The town was established by the Romans and this is heritage is reflected in the town’s Amphitheatre and Roman museum.  We will continue on to visit Highgrove Gardens, the private gardens of HRH Prince of Wales. Led by an expert tour guide we tour the highly individual gardens that bring to life the Prince's horticultural ideas.

Full Day: Cotswolds And Painswick Rococo Gardens

Excursion into the pretty Cotswolds, calling at Bourton-on-the-Water en route to Painswick Rococo Gardens. Designed in the 1740s, in the Continental style, a visit here will take you back to the elegance and sophistication of the early 1700s when gardens were fashionable, theatrical sets providing backgrounds to decadent garden parties.
