We make our way from the interchange to Portpatrick where we check into The Portpatrick Hotel after which we enjoy an evening meal.
Days Two to Four
We spend the next three days on the Wigtownshire coast in the town of Portpatrick, exploring the area around the coast on included excursions. We visit two fantastic gardens, we will see rhododendrons and magnolias amid enchanting ruins at Castle Kennedy and Scotland's most exotic gardens at Logan Botanical Gardens.
We will also take a scenic drive along the coast to Machars peninsula, a windswept and beautiful area of countryside and mossy moorland. There will be plenty of opportunities to take in great vantage points from mossy cliffs out to the wide Irish sea that stretches in front of you.
There's plenty to see in and around Portpatrick with walks along rugged coastline easy accessible from town. You can relax in the calming surroundings of the port with a number of highly rated cafes and restaurants and pretty pastel houses making up the area. (B,D)

Full Day: Logan Botanical Gardens and Castle Kennedy Gardens
Excursion including visits to two beautiful gardens – Castle Kennedy Gardens which flank the shattered, ivy-clad remains of a medieval fortress and are world-famous for their spectacular collection of rhododendrons and magnolias, and award-winning Logan Botanical Gardens, recognised as the most exotic garden in Scotland and containing many small gardens, each with their own character.
Full Day: Machars Peninsula
Excursion venturing around the secret coastline of the Machars Peninsula, an area of rolling farmland and open landscapes, not usually on the tourist trail and largely untouched by modern civilisation.
