Ypres witnessed several of the Great War’s major battles, being reduced to ruins by the end of the war. Discover the now-rebuilt city of Ypres, learn about its place in the history of the First World War, and visit the moving In Flanders Fields’ Museum.
Our mini-cruise will see us travelling from Hull to Zeebrugge by North Sea ferry. From here, we’ll visit some of the main battlefield sites around Ypres before visiting the town itself with time to explore this beautiful city before visiting the city’s famous In Flanders Fields Museum. We’ll then continue our journey back across the North Sea, arriving in Hull after an interesting mini-cruise.

Itinerary

Day One - Hull to Zeebrugge
On day one of our holiday, we’ll travel overnight from Hull to Zeebrugge on-board our superb P&O North Sea Ferry, staying in comfortable cabin accommodation. The onboard entertainment in the Sunset Show Lounge will have a 60’s theme so you can party the night away.

Day Two – Ypres and Battlefields
Arriving in Zeebrugge this morning, we’ll continue our journey towards Ypres, visiting some of the most well-known Battlefields sites along the way. Explore this incredible city at leisure, and see the moving exhibits at the In Flanders’ Fields Museum, before returning to our ferry to travel home overnight.

Day Three - Zeebrugge to Hull
We’ll arrive back in Hull on our third day, and will continue our journey home.

Full Day: WW1 Battlefields, Ypres and In Flanders Fields Museum

Visit Ypres, best known as the site of dramatic World War I battles, and where many British soldiers fought and died. During our time here, we’ll be able to explore at leisure to see Ypres’ many sights, such as the Menin Gate, which honours those who perished during the Great War with no known graves. We’ll also visit the In Flanders’ Fields Museum, named after McCrae's moving poem, to learn more about the events of the Great War.
