Stay right on the seafront close to all of Exmouth’s attractions and just across the road from the beach with us at The Grand Hotel.
Exmouth is situated in a beautiful part of the South West, just at the mouth of the River Exe. A number of glorious walking trails pass through the town, with the South West Coastal Path passing just over the road from the hotel. Take the path through stunning coastal scenery to the amazing village of Budleigh Salterton, in town there are a number of cafes, bars, pubs and galleries to enjoy before hopping on a local bus back to Exmouth.
Going a little further afield you can discover a number of great towns close by. Take the short trip to Exeter to learn the thousands of years’ worth of history that this city possesses or travel south along the coast to Torquay, Paignton and Teignmouth to enjoy traditional attractions and scenic beaches.
After all that outdoor exercise the hotel is a perfect place to wind down and take it easy. Relax with a drink and take in the sunset in the hotels beautiful gardens, or after enjoying a meal in the restaurant, sit in the comfortable bar and lounge area for a soothing rest before bed.
Tavistock, Princetown and the House of Marbles
On our excursion to Dartmoor we will visit Princetown, the highest town on Dartmoor and location of the infamous Dartmoor Prison, the town itself has a museum devoted to the place. We will travel across the rugged landscape past wild ponies, rugged moors and rock formations as we make our way to Tavistock on the edge of the park. Tavistock is a traditional market town and is the perfect place to stock up on local Devon produce with cheeses coming highly recommended. On the way back to Exmouth we'll call at the House of Marbles to see fine toys and gifts being produced.
