Come with us as we enjoy a tour through Italy, taking in some of the country’s best sights and attractions, while relaxing on a refreshing break. Explore Rome with its ancient buildings and awe-inspiring architecture, and stroll through the pretty Sorrento streets, surrounded by lush lemon groves.
We’ll journey through France and northern Italy, before arriving at the marvellous city of Rome, with its ancient attractions such as the Colosseum and the Forum, as well as its exciting atmosphere. The Eternal City of Rome is one of the most important tourist destinations of the world, due to the vast number of archaeological and artistic treasures, as well as for the charm of its unique traditions. Explore the sights, including the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and of course the Pantheon is not to be missed.
We’ll the continue to Sorrento, with free time available to explore the city’s dazzling sights, while admiring the pretty views available over the Bay of Naples. Of course, we couldn’t come to this part of Italy and not enjoy a day spent along the Amalfi Drive, which is famous for its astounding scenery. We’ll then call in at the ancient Pompeii, which is today one of the region’s most-visited attractions.
We’ll then return via Tuscany, before continuing to Switzerland and France before arriving home.
Day One - UK to Northern France
Relax aboard our coach as we cross to Calais, then on to northern France, where we will stay overnight.
Day Two – Northern France to Annecy area
Today we journey north of the French Alps to the charming Annecy area, where we will enjoy dinner in our overnight hotel. (B,D)
Day Three – Annecy area to Montecatini
We continue our journey crossing over to Italy, arriving at our overnight hotel in the spa town of Montecatini. (B,D)
Day Four - Montecatini to Rome
Today we head for Rome, stopping en route in the Tuscan town of Montepulciano. We arrive in the beautiful Italian capital city of Rome in time for dinner this evening. We stay for three nights at the four-star Hotel Pinewood. (B,D)

Day Five - Rome
We enjoy an insightful guided city tour of Rome today, highlighting some of the top sights, including the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain. (B,D)
Day Six - Rome
Enjoy breakfast in your hotel this morning, and explore further at your own leisure today, as Rome has so many wonderful places to see including the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. (B,D)
Day Seven - Rome to Sorrento
Moving onto the coast, we travel to stylish Sorrento where we will stay for three nights at the lovely three-star Hotel Tirrenia. Sorrento is located in a steep position on the Gulf of Naples, offering breathtaking panoramic views. On arrival we’ll enjoy an orientation tour of this enchanting town. (B,D)
Day Eight - Sorrento (Amalfi Coast)
Today we explore many must-see sights of this region, with a tour along the Amalfi coast, taking in the stunning scenery as we drive by. (B,D)
Day Nine - Sorrento (Pompeii)
Discover the unique archaeological site of Pompeii today, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. (B,D)
Day Ten - Sorrento to Viareggio
We depart Sorrento and travel along the coast to Viareggio. We’ll make a stop at the beautiful town of Pisa before arriving at our overnight hotel in time for dinner. (B,D)
Day Eleven - Viareggio to Switzerland
We head north for Switzerland and relax at our overnight hotel (B,D)
Day Twelve – Switzerland to Northern France
We continue homewards, staying in Northern France for our final night. (B,D)
Day Thirteen - Northern France to UK
We head for the coast of France, enjoy our crossing to the UK and continue home. (B)

En Route: Montepulciano
We’ll start our holiday by travelling to Rome via the beautiful Montepulciano, with its stunning medieval architecture and scenic views. This en route visit will give us a taste of the splendour to come in Rome.
Full Day: Amalfi Drive
The Amalfi Drive is a famous road that winds its way along the Amalfi Coast, which sits on the Sorrentine Peninsula and offers up splendid sea views and amazing vistas. We’ll spend the day enjoying this fabulous scenic drive.
Half Day: Rome Guided City Tour
The Eternal City is the capital of Italy and home to the famed Roman Empire, the Seven Hills, La Dolce Vita (the sweet life), the Vatican City and Three Coins in the Fountain. The historic centre of the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Rome has an immensely rich historical heritage and cosmopolitan atmosphere, making it one of Europe's and the world's most visited capitals. Join our guided tour of Rome and learn about its fascinating history.
As we start to make our way home, we’ll travel via a scenic coastal route and the wonderful city of Pisa, which is known throughout the world as the home of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. We’ll enjoy free time in the city to explore at leisure before continuing our journey home.
When Vesuvius erupted in AD 79, covering Pompeii in deep volcanic ash, it preserved for posterity one of the region’s most important Roman centres. Today, we see a remarkable excavation site and outdoor museum of the ancient Roman settlement. This site is considered to be one of the few where an ancient city has been preserved in detail - everything from jars and tables to paintings and people were frozen in time, yielding, together with neighbouring Herculaneum which suffered the same fate, an unprecedented opportunity to see how its people lived two thousand years ago.
Sorrento Guided Walking Tour
Sorrento is home to beautiful architecture, many cafes and restaurants, and shops catering to tourists. We’ll be treated to a guided walking tour of the town, and so will be able to find out all about its wonderful history, as well as seeing the various attractions Sorrento has to offer.
Half Day: Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel
No visit to Rome would be complete without visiting the spectacular Vatican and Sistine Chapel. The smallest independent state in the world, the Vatican City is also one of the most important sites for the history of human civilization.
Here, we’ll discover museums rich with fascinating history, and will be able to discover over five centuries of intriguing heritage. The museums are composed of several sections, including the Gregorian Etruscan Museum, the Pinacoteca, the Raphael Stanze and the Sistine Chapel.
The Sistine Chapel is most famous for Michelangelo’s breath-taking artwork - The Last Judgement. Admire the incredible art and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere here!
Neapolitan Theatre Show
We’ll enjoy a colourful evening of Neapolitan song and dance, with a local theatre production to entertain us.
