The long Easter weekend is the perfect time of year to enjoy a relaxing getaway. Departing on Good Friday and returning on Easter Monday, on our Easter Breaks you can take in the scenic splendours of springtime as you enjoy everything that’s great about a Shearings weekend break. On this trip we will visit the magnificent English Riviera and the town of Torquay. On an included excursion we will visit the surrounding countryside and the historic city of Exeter where you can still see evidence of Roman occupation to this day. So come along for a refreshing Easter break on the English Riviera with Shearings!
The Bay Torbay hotel sits amid swaying palms and golden sands at the heart of the English Riviera in the beautiful town or Torquay.
Set on the seafront just across the road from the Pavillion Theatre, with the South West Coast Path passing very close to the hotel. Fleet Street starts just behind the hotel and has a number of shops and cafes to enjoy.
From Torquay it is just a short journey by both car and public transport to the best natural sights that Devon has to offer. Dartmoor is about an hour away where you can enjoy great walks along beautiful trails amid fantastic heather moorland. Or head south along the coast to the pretty towns such as Paignton and Dartmouth.
In the hotel you can relax on a lovely sun terrace or grab some food and drinks from one of the two bars or snack bar and the café. We offer standard, standard plus, superior and premier rooms which you can select to upgrade to for even greater space and comfort during your stay.
Teign Valley, Exeter and House of Marbles
We take a scenic drive into Dartmoor, visiting the Teign Valley for beautiful views of green rolling countryside. We’ll carry on from there to Exeter, the county town of Devon and a place steeped in history. You will have free time to explore all the sights the city has to offer, for something a little different go and explore the medieval water systems below Exeter’s surface, tours can be found from the Princesshay Shopping area. On our way back to Torquay, we will stop at the House of Marbles to see high quality vintage toys and gifts being produced.
