A new tour to enhance our Dutch Bulbfields programme. Combine Keukenhof Gardens with a stay in the beautiful Dutch town of Valkenburg. The beautiful town of Valkenburg is a great base and you can explore all it has to offer from the castle remains to the underground caves.
Visit Keukenhof Gardens, home to over 7 million bulbs which are planted to make a truly spectacular display enjoyed by visitors from all over the world. You will have time to explore Maastricht and take some time out to visit the network of underground passageways and vaults beneath the city where a large part of the Netherlands’ art treasures were safeguarded during World War II. Cross the border into Germany to visit Aachen and its famous old town and cathedral before continuing to Monschau through the Eiffel Mountains. Monschau is a true gem nestled into the rolling hills and full of half-timbered houses.
Please note: We advise that a smaller overnight bag is taken on the overnight crossing with PandO Ferries. Any larger suitcases can be left in the hold on the coach, but cannot be accessed during the sailing.

Day One: Overnight sailing to Holland
We start our tour at a leisurely pace driving to Hull for our overnight sailing to Rotterdam. Enjoy the bars and restaurant on board including the Sunset Show lounge until the early hours.
Day Two: Keukenhof Gardens
After an early morning arrival into Rotterdam we drive straight to Keukenhof Gardens. 7 million bulbs are planted to create an amazing display of tulips, daffodils amongst others. It attracts visitors from all over the world. We continue to Valkenburg in time for dinner. (D)
Day Three: Maastricht
Today we make the short journey to Maastricht. Visit the prettiest parts of the old city centre including the Stokstraat Quarter, the Basilica of Our Lady, the Ramparts and the parks plus much more. Take some time out to explore the network of underground passageways and vaults beneath the city where a large part of the Netherlands’ art treasures were safeguarded during World War II. You also have the option of a half day visit to Mondo Verde Gardens taking you around the world in a variety of different gardens. There is also a zoo to enjoy with different animals. (B,D)
Day Four: Valkenburg
As the oldest tourist centre in the Netherlands, Valkenburg itself boasts many attractions including the famous castle, museums and marlstone caves. There is also a chair lift offering great views of the town and a great collection of shops, street cafés and restaurants. (B,D)
Day Five: Aachen
A great excursion into Germany to visit Aachen and Monschau. We start in Aachen famous for its old town and cathedral. You have the option of joining a guided walking tour. We continue through the Eifel Mountains to the beautiful town of Monschau. Nestled into the hills, spend some time walking the narrow streets admiring the half timbered building that the town is famous for. (B,D)
Day Six: Delft and overnight crossing
We depart Valkenburg this morning and make an en route stop in the quaint town of Delft. Famous for its pottery, examples can be seen in many of the shops throughout the tour. Stroll the small streets enjoying the shops, cafes and restaurants or take a canal cruise to see the town from a different perspective. We continue to Rotterdam to board our return overnight crossing to Hull. (B)
Day Seven: Return to UK
We arrive early morning back into Hull and continue our journey home.
We visit historical Delft, famous for its blue and white pottery, with a labyrinth of canals, fairy-tale shaped bridges and beautiful painted gables. Enjoy time to explore at leisure here.
Full Day: Aachen And Monschau
Cross the border into Germany and visit Aachen. Enjoy some free time exploring the great old town and its cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Moving on, drive through the stunning scenery of the Eiffel Mountains before spending some time in the picturesque village of Monschau, famous for its half-timbered buildings overlooked by a medieval castle, before returning to Valkenburg.
Full Day: Keukenhof Gardens
Experience the dazzling floral displays in the seven themed gardens with a never-ending variety of spring bulbs and flowers. Admire beautiful tulips, daffodils, narcissi, hyacinths and many other varieties of flowers, taking in the kaleidoscope of colour.
Full Day: Maastricht
An excursion to Maastricht, the southernmost city in the Netherlands, also known as the ‘Paris of the Benelux’. Visit the prettiest parts of the old city centre including the Stokstraat Quarter, the Basilica of Our Lady, the Ramparts and the parks plus much, much, more. Take some time out to explore the network of underground passageways and vaults beneath the city where a large part of the Netherlands’ art treasures were safeguarded during World War II.
Aachen Guided Walking Tour
Enjoy a 2 hour guided walking tour of Aachen and its famous old town.
Half Day: Mondo Verde Gardens
Around the world in half a day! A superb attraction combining gardens from around the world and a zoo, all-in-one. Visit different garden displays from Italy, Japan, Australia, Russia, Morocco and Spain amongst others. The zoo includes animals form all over the world as well.
