    The heart-shaped Istrian Peninsula is a beautiful destination within Croatia and is home to many fantastic towns and cities that are well worth visiting. During our Croatian Coast coach holiday, we’ll see some charming places and beautiful scenery.

    With a range of optional and included excursions, as well as passing through some of Istria’s, we’ll experience a fantastic holiday in Croatia. Based on the outskirts of pretty Umag, we will also call at Rovinj, Pula and Motovun, with additional optional excursions to choose from.

    Rovinj In Istria
    Full Day: Rovinj and Pula

    Discover the west side of the Istrian Peninsula as we visit charming Rovinj, with its pretty pastel coloured houses clustered along the winding streets, overlooked by the Venetian style bell tower. The historic centre is completely contained within the oval peninsula and the town and harbour are a delight to explore.

    From Rovinj, we’ll continue to the popular town of Pula. One of the many jewels in Istria’s crown, Pula is the largest city on the peninsula and is known for its beautiful sea views and unspoilt scenery. The city has a wealth of history within its walls, as it was brought to life during Roman times, with many Roman buildings and features still existing today.

    Motovun
    Half day: Motovun

    Join our excursion today as we travel to the heart of the Istria region, to visit enchanting Motovun. You’ll see this idyllic hilltop town as we approach and we’ll take the short transfer bus up to the town, where there will be free time to enjoy a stroll and see the historic town square and medieval walls.

    OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS


    Opatija
    Full Day: Opatija
    Just a short way along the coast, also nestled on the banks of the Adriatic Sea, is the lovely resort of Opatija, which we’ll visit today. Enjoy time at your leisure to soak up the beautiful architecture, seafront promenade and colourful parks.

    Opatija has a number of attractions that are worth visiting, such as the Benedictine Abbey of Saint James (Opatija Sv. Jakova), and the famous statue titled ‘Maiden with the Seagull’, which can be found by the Juraj Sporer art pavilion.
    Porec
    Half Day : Porec
    Today we visit the charming town of Porec, where you can enjoy a stroll along the two main bays, known as the Green and Blue Lagoons. There’ll also be time to see the old centre, streets, and squares.

    One of the major attractions in Porec is its UNESCO World Heritage Site-designated Euphrasian Basilica, also known as the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption of Mary. Why not visit the cathedral at your leisure to see the stunning mosaics and Byzantine architecture.
    Piran
    Piran & Portoroz

    We’ll enjoy a unique excursion today, as we make cross the border into Slovenia, which has a tiny coastline and we’ll visit Piran, a quaint medieval town with stunning architecture. Wander along the town’s narrow streets and admire the historic town walls. Continuing on, we’ll also call at pretty Portoroz, whose name means ‘Port of Flowers’. Take in the fresh seaside air on a walk along the promenade and admire the resort’s beach and piers.
