From here we will travel to a number of intriguing destinations with included and optional excursions. Some of these will include trips to Krk Island, Postojna Caves and Pula.

    Postojna Caves

Crossing into nearby Slovenia, we’ll visit the fascinating Postojna Caves, a fantastic web of tunnels, passages and halls. Being the second largest cave system in Croatia, it’s a hugely popular attraction. This naturally-occurring system was created by the Pivka River and was first discovered in the 17th century; the so-called Concert Hall within the caves is known for its amazing acoustics.

We’ll also be able to take the cave train, which will take us through spectacular underground arches and stalactites, so we can see everything the Postojna Caves have to offer. After our visit, we’ll continue to Lipica Stud Farm, which is one of the finest breeding farms for the beautiful Lipizzaner horse.

This breed of horse is a favourite of the Spanish Riding School, which is famous for its classical dressage performances. While we’re at the farm, we’ll find out all about the breeding of the Lipizzaner and will also get to enjoy a dressage show.

    Krk island
Full Day: Krk Island and Wine Tasting

Journey across Krk Bridge for our island adventure, with Krk Island being the largest in the Adriatic Sea. The island has an amazing history, having been inhabited since Neolithic times.

We’ll call at Vrbnik, a small Croatian town with beautiful views over the channel. The town is known for its excellent vineyards, and while we’re there we’ll get the chance to sample local cheese, ham and wine, before continuing to Krk. Enjoy time to explore the area at leisure, where the sights in the main town include the Roman ruins, cathedral and town towers.

    OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS

    Porec

At over 2,000 years old, the town of Porec is a fantastic destination to visit if you’re interested in Croatia’s history. We’ll have free time to see the sights such as the wonderfully preserved Roman Decumanus and Cardo Maximus streets, its Romanesque architecture, and Porec town tower.

From Porec, we’ll travel on to Rovinj. This city on the Istrian Peninsular has a range of attractions we’ll be able to visit while touring the city in our own time. These include the baroque St. Euphemia's Basilica, the Rovinj Town Museum and the quaint town houses placed throughout the city centre.

To appreciate the beauty of the Istrian Peninsula’s coastline, we’ll enjoy a cruise around Kvarner Bay. This Adriatic Sea bay is home to a number of islands and the cruise will give us a chance to see for ourselves just how stunning this part of Croatia really is.

The rolling hillsides, packed with colourful buildings, plus the densely wooded areas and rocky beaches all look amazing from the water, and there are sure to be lots of photo opportunities.

    Zagreb main square

Croatia’s capital city, Zagreb, is certainly bound to be a thrilling day out. We’ll spend the day here, with free time to explore. From the city’s bustling centre, to its enthralling attractions and many shopping options, we’re sure to be able to find something to do while there.

Zagreb’s attractions include its numerous museums, such as the Archaeological Museum, the Modern Gallery and the Croatian Museum of Naive Art. Zagreb Cathedral, Jelacic Square, the Dolac Market and the city’s statutes of Saint George are also popular tourist attractions.

    Ampitheatre in Pula
    Half Day: Pula

Travelling to the south of the peninsula, we’ll discover historical Pula, Istria’s largest city.
While in Pula, you’ll have chance to explore the city itself, where sights include the stunning amphitheatre, the Chapel of St. Mary Formosa, the Arch of the Sergii and the Temple of Roma and Augustus.
