Itinerary

Day One - UK to Kaarst
We travel across to Calais and through northern France into Germany, for our evening arrival in Kaarst, near Dusseldorf, where we stay for three nights.

Day Two - Cologne
Enjoy our full day excursion to the beautiful city of Cologne for chance to explore the seasonal stalls. (B,D)

Day Three - Dusseldorf
We enjoy the festive markets and shopping in Dusseldorf. (B,D)

Day Four - Via Aachen to France
We leave Kaarst and travel via Aachen back into France for our final overnight stay (B,D)

Day Five - France to UK
We return to Calais, then make our way onward home (B)

Full Day: Cologne And Bonn Markets

The city of Cologne has seven markets, with the largest ones located at the cathedral, Alter Markt, Neumarkt and Rudolfplatz. It is truly magical to explore the colourful decorated stalls and seasonal treats, with the backdrop of the imposing cathedral and other historic buildings, such as the medieval gate house. After time to explore, we go on to visit the historic city of Bonn, for more opportunity to enjoy some festive foods and shopping.

Full Day: Dusseldorf

The vibrant city of Dusseldorf has an exciting mix of traditional markets and fabulous shops, especially along the popular Konigsallee, where lights illuminate the giant trees along the boulevard. Explore the city and enjoy the festive treats such as mulled wine and gingerbread.
