Join us as we make our way by express coach to Rovinj, one of Croatia’s most charming towns. We’ll be able to take in its famous harbour while at leisure, as well as exploring nearby sights and destinations during our holiday.
From our base at the Hotel Eden, we’ll begin our holiday with an excursion to Porec’s charming town centre. Be sure to bring your camera with you, as there are lots of things to see here - there’s the Marafor square with its Roman temples, the town’s delightful harbour and the UNESCO Euphrasian Basilica.
After this, we’ll get the unique opportunity to discover two countries in one day, as we travel to Umag in Croatia and Portoroz in Slovenia on our final excursion. See the sights here and take in the wonderful atmospheres and attractions in these fascinating destinations.
Day One - Depart UK
In the morning of day one, we’ll make the journey from the UK to Rovinj, which will see us travelling via Calais. From there, we’ll travel through the night on our overnight express coach.
Day Two - Arrive in Rovinj
We arrive in Rovinj early this afternoon and have time to settle into our hotel, for our first night on Croatia's beautiful Istrian Peninsula. (D)
Days Three to Seven - Rovinj
We'll spend another five days in wonderful Rovinj, enjoying two included excursions during our time there, as well as the chance to join a selection of optional trips. We’ll visit the city of Porec, as well as spending free time in Rovinj and exploring Umag in Croatia and Portoroz in Slovenia. (B,D)
Day Eight - Depart Rovinj
As our holiday draws to a close, we’ll say goodbye to Rovinj and will travel through the night to Calais. (B)
Day Nine - Arrive in UK
We’ll then return to the UK via Calais, and will take the coach back to our local joining points.

Hotel Eden Rovinj
Overlooking Rovinj’s bay and beach, just a mile from the town centre, the Hotel Eden boasts excellent facilities that guests can make the most of during their stay. The hotel also offers comfortable guest rooms and is within reach of Rovinj’s attractions.
Full Day: Umag and Portoroz
We’ll enjoy a unique excursion today, as we make our way to two different countries to explore Umag in Croatia and Portoroz in Slovenia. Umag is Croatia’s most westerly city, and we’ll discover stunning coastal scenery here. Explore the town’s 10th-century walls admire the 16th-century Church of St Roche.
Continuing to Slovenia, we’ll visit Portoroz, famous for its pristine beaches. Admire the beautiful coastal scenery, visit on of the beachside bars or cafes, or visit one of the town’s three casinos!
We’ll travel to Porec today, where you can enjoy a stroll along the two main bays, known as the Green and Blue Lagoons. There will also be time to see the old centre, streets, and squares.
One of the major attractions in Porec is its UNESCO World Heritage Site-designated Euphrasian Basilica, also known as the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption of Mary. Why not visit the cathedral at your leisure to see the stunning mosaics and Byzantine architecture?
We’ll also be able to admire the town’s pretty harbour, and admire its architecture - at over 2,000 years old, Porec is filled with wonderful sights!
Just a short way along the coast, also nestled on the banks of the Adriatic Sea, is the lovely resort of Opatija, which we’ll visit today. Enjoy time at your leisure to soak up the beautiful architecture, seafront promenade and colourful parks.
Opatija has a number of attractions that are worth visiting, such as the Benedictine Abbey of Saint James (Opatija Sv. Jakova), and the famous statue titled ‘Maiden with the Seagull’, which can be found by the Juraj Sporer art pavilion.
Porec Guided Tour And Basilica Visit
Find out more about Porec’s interesting past, and discover some of its best attractions with our guided tour. Our expert guide will take us through this beautiful town, and we’ll also visit the Euphrasian Basilica. This wonderful cathedral is one of Croatia’s beat examples of early Byzantine architecture, and features stunning mosaics and renaissance decor.
Today we’ll discover popular town of Pula. One of the many jewels in Istria’s crown, Pula is the largest city on the peninsula and is known for its beautiful sea views and unspoilt scenery. The city has a wealth of history within its walls, as it was brought to life during Roman times, with many Roman buildings and features still existing today.
Spend time taking in sights such as the tow’s stunning amphitheatre, the Chapel of St. Mary Formosa, the Arch of the Sergii and the Temple of Roma and Augustus.
