    Jaunt to Knaresborough

Perched high above the River Nidd, Knaresborough is a picture perfect Yorkshire town. You will have time to explore the town; the views across the surrounding landscape from the ruins of Knaresborough Castle are a highlight. However, the opportunity to learn about Ursula Sontheil, also known as Mother Shipton is the town’s greatest draw. Legend has it that she was a prophetess or a witch in the area 500 years ago, whether or not you believe the story, you certainly get an eerie feeling around the caves and woods where she was purported to live!

    Rooftops and Minster of York
    Trip to York

From the Romans to the Vikings and eventually the House of Plantagenet during the War of the Roses, York has always been a hugely important city. You will have free time to explore the Minister, quaint shops and historic pubs on the Shambles, the city walls or the recently restored Jorvik Viking centre, to get a real feel of York’s past. You’ll definitely find something to suit you for an afternoon in this incredible city.
