The Country Living St George Hotel
The Country Living Hotel St George is a magnificent Georgian property at the heart of beautiful Harrogate.
The hotel has been designed in conjunction with the team at Country Living Magazine, the UK’s best-selling home interest magazine.
Rooms have been designed with relaxing surroundings, comfy sofas, cosy beds and stylish bathrooms to offer you total relaxation and an escape from the everyday. Country Living has worked with talented chefs to create delicious menus, using fresh, seasonal and local ingredients, with some recipes inspired by features from the magazine.
Of course the hotel has retained the original features it is blessed with, such as the beautiful Georgian facade and high ceilings, all of which adds to fantastic styling of the Country Living Hotel St George.
The hotel is ideally located in the centre of Harrogate, five minutes from Bettys tea rooms and the beautiful Valley Gardens on foot..
Head out of Harrogate and you can easily discover the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales which begin nearby, villages such as Malham and Grassington have a classic beauty and the rolling green hills in between are characteristic for their drystone walls and abundant livestock.
Fantastic cities are also in easy reach with cosmopolitan Leeds and historic York both great nearby options for a day trip.
Trip to Knaresborough
Perched high above the River Nidd, Knaresborough is a picture perfect Yorkshire town. You will have time to explore the town; the views across the surrounding landscape from the ruins of Knaresborough Castle are a highlight. However, the opportunity to learn about Ursula Sontheil, also known as Mother Shipton is the town’s greatest draw. Legend has it that she was a prophetess or a witch in the area 500 years ago, whether or not you believe the story, you certainly get an eerie feeling around the caves and woods where she was purported to live!
Enjoy a trip to the medieval city of York, where there will be free time to explore this most historical city, or call at the National Railway Museum where you can discover 300 years of transport history.
