En Route: Leipzig And Colditz Castle
While en route, we visit the beautiful city of Leipzig, home to the Nikolaikirche, the Church of St. Nicholas, which was the starting point of peaceful demonstrations against the communist regime which led to German Reunification.
During our time here, we also visit the infamous Colditz Castle, used as a workhouse and a mental institution for over 100 years; it gained international fame as a prisoner of war camp during World War II for Allied officers who had repeatedly escaped from other camps.

Half Day: Berlin including city tour
We’ll introduce you to the main attractions of this vibrant city, on our interesting guided tour. As we explore cosmopolitan Berlin today, it’s hard to imagine that until 1989 this city was divided, as the communist government built a wall to separate West Berlin from the rest of East Germany, with the crossing point ‘Checkpoint Charlie’ to prevent escape to the West part of the city. See landmarks including remnants of the Berlin Wall, the impressive Reichstag Parliament, poignant Checkpoint Charlie and the magnificent Brandenburg Gate.
Join us on an excellent optional excursion to Meissen, a charming German town famous for its porcelain, the first of its kind to ever be produced in Europe in the 1700s. We learn more about this with a fascinating trip to Meissen's porcelain factory.
Potsdam And Sansoucci Palace
Join our wonderful excursion today as we discover the interesting city of Potsdam and stunning Sanssouci Palace, with its wonderful architecture and gardens.
