Itinerary

Day One: From Home to Dublin area
We make our way from our interchange to Holyhead and join the ferry over to Ireland, going on to our hotel in the Dublin area where we stay overnight. (D)

Day Two: Dublin area to Ennis via Shannonbridge
We head to Shannonbridge for a cruise on the River Shannon, taking in the spectacular natural beauty of the waterway. Then continue on to the Auburn Lodge Hotel. Here we will enjoy a punch reception on arrival and live entertainment on one night. (B,D)

Day Three: Foynes Flying Boat Museum and Bunratty Castle

Today we take a short ferry ride across the River Shannon, then fly back in time to before the Second World War with a fascinating visit to the Foynes Flying Boat Museum. We continue on to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, where 19th century life is vividly recreated in the ‘living’ village. (B,D)

Day Four: A free day in Ennis

Enjoy a day at leisure in Ennis – relax and enjoy the hotel’s fantastic facilities. (B,D)

Day Five: Ennis to Midleton near Cork via Cobh
 

Today we make our way to the ancient city of Limerick, set on the banks of the mighty River Shannon. After time to explore, we make our way to Charleville or Blarney where we stay for the next two nights. (B,D)

Day Six: A free day in Midleton 

Today we visit Cobh and the Queenstown Story, where we’re told about the ill-fated Titanic and the story of Irish immigrants. Later we visit Cork where we enjoy a guided city tour and time at leisure.  (B,D)

Day Seven: The Waterford & Suir Valley Railway
We enjoy a journey on the Waterford & Suir Valley Railway, along 6km of narrow gauge track along the banks of the River Suir. Lunchtime beckons as we approach Waterford for a short stop. We then continue our journey to the Dublin area for our final nights stay. (B,D)

Day Eight: From Dublin area to home

We depart this morning and make our way home. (B)
