Days Two to Four: Ipswich
We spend three days in Ipswich, during which time we will take two included excursions to see some of the most beautiful cities, houses and gardens in the region.
We travel to Angelsey Abbey and Gardens which have been transformed from a run-down country house in a desolate landscape to become a beautiful Jacobean-style house amid stunning green gardens. We will then visit the world-famous university city of Cambridge where you will be able to enjoy some free time to explore the beautiful city.
We also visit RHS Garden Hyde Hall in the Essex countryside which mixes traditional English Rose and courtyard gardens showcasing the best the country offers as well as the Dry Garden, featuring a number of typical dessert plants.
You will have free time to enjoy the area around our hotel set in pretty Suffolk countryside. (B,D)
Time to say goodbye today; we depart after breakfast and make our way to the interchange before returning home. (B)
Full Day: Cambridge and Anglesey Abbey and Gardens
Excursion to Anglesey Abbey and Gardens. A passion for tradition and impressing guests inspired Lord Fairhaven to transform this once run-down country house and desolate landscape. Here we visit the house and have time to explore the beautiful gardens. Afterwards we will visit the historic university city of Cambridge where we will be able to look around the various colleges and a number of museums and galleries within the city.
