Explore Bruges and Ypres with a visit the In Flanders Fields Museum, as well as time spent in the medieval city of Bruges.
We’ll begin our tour in Neuville-en-Ferrain, where we’ll stay at the Hotel des Acacias for four nights. We’ll visit Bruges in order to see the city today, and to admire its intriguing medieval architecture.

After this, we’ll spend a day remembering our fallen heroes, with a trip to Ypres and the In Flanders Fields Museum, which is dedicated to remembering the events of the Great War. We’ll also be able to take a number of optional excursions during our tour, in order to further explore Belgium.

Day One: UK to Neuville-en-Ferrain
We’ll travel to Neuville-en-Ferrain via Calais, and then on to our hotel to arrive in time for a welcome drink and three-course dinner. (D)

Days Two to Four: Neuville-en-Ferrain
Over the following three days, we’ll spend time in Bruges and Ypres, with optional excursions to Sluis in the Netherlands and Belgium’s capital city Brussels. (B,D)

Day Five: Neuville-en-Ferrain to UK
We’ll then journey back to the UK via Calais and will return home. (B)

Full Day: Bruges

Enjoy the exquisitely preserved medieval city of Bruges during this excursion. Charming Bruges is known for its winding cobbled streets, pretty gabled houses and attractive tree-lined canals, each crossed by a humpback bridge.


Half Day: Ypres and In Flanders Fields Museum

Today we will spend time in historic Ypres, which enjoys a rich history and heritage that we’ll explore while there, as well as visiting the In Flanders Fields Museum. This museum gained its name from the iconic poem of the same name by John McCrae, who was deeply affected by the death of a friend during the Second Battle of Ypres. The museum covers the events of the First World War, while also showing how the past can affect the present.


Optional Excursions

Bruges Guided Walking Tour

Bruges is a fascinating city, and we’ll be able to enjoy a guided walking tour of the city while we’re there. This will provide us with more information about the city, as well as showing us some of the most famous attractions and landmarks.


Guided city tour of Brussels

Brussels is perhaps most famous for the Grand Place, the city’s main square which is surrounded by ornate medieval guildhalls. Our guided city tour of Brussels will show us the many other amazing attractions and sights here too, so we can enjoy this city to the fullest extent.


Half Day: Brussels

For amazing architecture and fascinating attractions, Brussels is the best place to visit. We’ll spend half a day in the capital city of Belgium and will be able to explore this marvellous location at leisure. With its famous Grand Place, Brussels City Hall, Cinquantenaire Park and Mont des Arts area, there’s more than enough to see here.


Half Day: Sluis

Visit the quaint Dutch town of Sluis on an optional excursion. Just over the border in the Netherlands Sluis has an attractive Gothic belfry and stone mill.
