Travel across Dartmoor to visit The Barbican

We'll enjoy an excursion across the wild landscape of Dartmoor as we journey towards Plymouth and the Barbican, the city's historic seaside heart. There is a huge amount to see and do even in such a small area with art galleries, pubs, bars and restaurants set around the ancient quayside. The area is perhaps most famous now as the place where the Pilgrim Fathers embarked onto the Mayflower before crossing the Atlantic to North America, the Mayflower steps mark the spot where they last left British soil. The Plymouth Gin Distillery occupies a large part of the Barbican and operates tours daily, with an opportunity for a tasting at the end. As well as these attractions there is the opportunity to simply gaze out at one of the most spectacular natural harbours in the world, Plymouth Sound.
