    Clovelly
    Full Day: Barnstaple & Clovelly

First we visit the attractive market town of Barnstaple, North Devon’s oldest and largest town, nestling in the Taw Valley. Take a walk up to the top of the mount that used to house Barnstaple Castle for a great view of the town and the River Taw winding its way towards the Bristol Channel. Alternatively the town’s museum is free to enter and houses a huge number of interesting items from the history of North Devon. Then it’s on to the absolutely charming seaside village of Clovelly which huddles around a port and is completely pedestrianised, adding to its charm. From the village’s steep cobbled high street there is a fantastic view of Bideford Bay and the Isle of Lundy.

    Quince Honey Farm
    Half Day: Quince Honey Farm

Family run for almost 70 years, Quince Honey Farm offers the opportunity to learn about the process of honey making and the intricacies of bee-keeping. As well as an opportunity to learn the process, there is also an exhibition on the importance of honey bees and the inner workings of a hive’s society. In the exhibition there’s a chance to see beekeeping firsthand, don’t worry though there’s a layer of protective glass to stand behind!
