Visit picturesque Polperro, so isolated on the coast it was once a smuggler’s paradise and pretty Looe, where the offshore island of St George was once home to notorious smugglers Pirate Joan and her brother Fyn!

Itinerary

Day One - Home to Newquay  
We’ll make our way from the interchange to Newquay, where we’ll check in to the Bay Beresford Hotel and will enjoy an evening meal. (D)

Days Two to Seven – Newquay  
We’ll have a great time, with three included excursions to enjoy – visit bustling Looe and picturesque Polperro and call at Jamaica Inn and visit maritime Falmouth and the Flambards Experience. (B,D)

Day Eight – Newquay to Home
Time to say goodbye today; we depart after breakfast and make our way to the interchange before returning home. (B)

Newquay has a number of great beaches in its immediate vicinity, Fistral Beach is a short journey away and is walkable if you are feeling active it is worth going out of your way for the space and scenery you will be afforded. Newquay is also ideally located for day trips out to beautiful Cornish coastal towns and villages including Falmouth, Padstow and St Ives which are all within an hour’s drive.

The hotel has two comfortable lounges and a sun lounge, which are great for winding down in after a long day enjoying the very best that Newquay has to offer. In the restaurant you will be able to enjoy fantastic meals at both breakfast and dinner and in room enjoy great coastal views from front facing bedrooms.

Full day: Bodmin And Wenford Railway

Excursion including a leisurely journey on the Bodmin & Wenford Railway through Cornwall’s unspoilt countryside before we venture onto Bodmin Moor, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We will make a stop at Jamaica Inn, made world famous by the smuggling tales of Daphne du Maurier and full of legend, mystery, romance and the odd friendly spirit!

Full day: Flambards Experience and Falmouth

We visit Flambards Amusement Park, which features a number of different themed attractions including aircraft, models and exhibitions. The Britain in the Blitz and Victorian Village Exhibits are the most popular in the park, with the latter having grown into a collection of more than 50 shops and cottages showing what life would have been like during the Victorian Era. As well as these there are other historical exhibits showcasing social history from the past three centuries and even a few rides to enjoy. Afterwards we'll call at the maritime town of Falmouth.

Full Day: Looe and Polperro

Join us on an excursion calling at the bustling seaside resort of Looe, divided into two distinct parts with the Looe River running through the centre. Explore the narrow streets lined with shops and cafes to reach the beautiful beach. We also visit enchanting Polperro where you can make your way through the winding, traffic-free streets to the pretty historic harbour.
