The Local Area

Included Excursions

Full day: Bad Ishl and Halstatt

Sit back and enjoy our scenic trip today as we call at the lovely spa town of Bad Ishl, close to some of the most beautiful lakes in Austria. We go on to the pretty village of Hallstatt, set on the banks of Lake Hallstatt, and dotted with charming pastel-coloured houses. Halstatt is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, for its beauty, but also its significance in natural salt resources, which helped the area to prosper in an otherwise untamed landscape.

Full day: St Wolfgang And Schafberg Railway

The popular lakeside resort of St Wolfgang is known for its 15th-century church, traditional old town with cobbled streets and wonderful frescoed houses. After time to explore, we’ll take a ride of nostalgia on the rack and pinion Schafberg railway up to the mountain peak and enjoy simply stunning views of the surrounding region.

Full Day: Vienna

Join our experienced guide as we explore the amazing city of Vienna, filled with cultural sights. We take in the city’s famous heritage of music and romance, travelling along the Ringstrasse to discover the Opera House, Burg Theatre and Houses of Parliament. We enjoy free time to explore Vienna’s beautiful city centre, before making our way to the Schlumberger wine cellars.

Spend time discovering these ancient wine cellars, which are over 300 years old and enjoy a glass of sparkling wine. We then journey to the village of Grinzing, where we are treated to a traditional Austrian Heuriger evening meal, with wine and music.
