The included and optional excursions

The included and optional excursions with Grand Tourer make these holidays unique, for example:

The Midnight Sun and Sami Villages - Scandinavia & Land of the Midnight Sun

We visit the northernmost point of mainland Europe for a chance to see the Midnight sun and know that only the sea and a few small islands separate you from the North Pole. We also visit a traditional Sami village, the only indigenous Scandinavian peoples, have been fishing, hunting and herding here for thousands of years.

Monet's Garden

Monet's Garden - Paris and the Seine Valley to Normandy

One of the most famous garden's in the world, Claude Monet's garden at his former home in Giverny is where he created his famous Water Lilies series of paintings. Monet created the gardens with the intention of painting them, the iconic bridge that appears in the paintings still stands and it's amazing to see how the artist managed to create a setting that inspired him so much.

Three Islands Boat Trip - Dubrovnik and Dalmatian Coast

This excursion simply takes the breath away with its beauty. Crystal clear waters, old ports and marinas, pretty beaches and stunning views await you on this island cruise. This is a fantastic way to spend an afternoon and will leave you with memories that last forever.

Lisbon is such a vibrant city, packed full of colour and charm. When visiting, try a pastel de nata, a Portuguese tart. The best place to get them is the Pasteis de Belem bakery, they’ve been perfecting them since 1837!

Keen cooks will love the flagship Lakeland kitchenware store in Windermere, an amazing emporium of cookware with a fabulous tea shop. Further down the High Street you’ll find great independent retailers, like bespoke furniture makers Peter Hall & Son.

Bordeaux is one of my favourite cities and surprisingly, it’s still somewhat of a hidden gem, despite being the wine capital of the world! Unrivalled natural landscapes, distinguished vineyards and chateaus are all within such a short proximity.

There’s no experience that compares to driving along the Amalfi Coast – the views have to be seen to be believed! In Sorrento, head to Marina Grande for a glass of Prosecco and fresh fish dishes, and try out your Italian with the charming locals.
