    About Enniscorthy

    Enniscorthy is the second-largest town in County Wexford, and is a wonderful place to visit on your holidays to Ireland.  The town is situated in the south-east of Ireland, in the province of Leinster.    The town’s history dates back to 465 AD. Much of the 2015 feature film Brooklyn was shot in Enniscorthy; the film was written by Nick Hornby, adapted from the novel by Colm Toibin.

    You’ll find plenty of things to do in Wexford and specifically in Enniscorthy, a must-visit on any holiday to Enniscorthy is Enniscorthy Castle, a 16th-century castle, which today houses the Wexford County Museum. The 1798 Rebellion Centre is a fascinating visitor attraction telling the story of the 1798 rebellion against British rule.  Also worth seeing is impressive St Aidan’s Cathedral.
