  • Overview

Normandy, with its poignant past, is an incredibly intriguing location. The region has featured many incarnations, from its 11th century conquest of England played out in the famous Bayeux Tapestry, the tragic events of D-Day and, now, as a wonderful holiday destination.

For those that would like to combine history with relaxation, this is the ideal place to stay. There’s no shortage of attractions here, so finding things to do in Normandy is always a breeze.

    About Normandy

All holidays in Normandy must take in the region’s moving past, either by touring its many museums or by visiting its D-Day memorials and cemeteries. But there’s still a lot of room for relaxation, with Normandy’s quiet destinations, dramatic coastal scenery and delicious cuisine to indulge in.

Rouen, home to the cathedral Impressionist Claude Monet famously painted, is an excellent place to stay, while maritime Honfleur is known for its colourful harbour. The UNESCO Le Havre, meanwhile, is an excellent holiday option.

    Attractions in Normandy

Whether you would like to immerse yourself in history with Normandy battlefield tours, or would rather relax on Normandy’s now-peaceful beaches, there’s more than enough to see and do here.

If you’d like to spend some time relaxing on the beach, Normandy has numerous options. Granville is Normandy’s version of Brittany’s famous St Malo, while Cabourg has a fantastic promenade and was Proust’s favourite coastal spot.

In addition to all of this, no trip to Normandy could be complete without exploring the extraordinary Mont St-Michel, the region’s iconic abbey.
