  • Overview

Scarborough has a fascinating history, and is believed to be the world's first seaside resort, dating back to the 1600s. With so much to offer, it's no wonder Scarborough's one of the UK's most popular holiday resorts and a tourist attraction for so many visitors. Our special collection of Scarborough holidays allows you to explore the fascinating gems of this beautiful town and enjoy its striking sandy beaches.

Scarborough is a North Yorkshire town on the North Sea coastline, protected by a rocky headland. It's the largest holiday resort on the Yorkshire coast. The older part of the town lies around the harbour and is protected by a rocky headland. The most striking feature of the town's geography is a high rocky promontory pointing eastward into the North Sea. The promontory supports the 11th-century ruins of Scarborough Castle and separates the seafront into two bays, to the north and south.

In Scarborough you'll find a bustling harbour, 11th-century castle ruins, and glorious sandy beaches. Scarborough is perfect for shoppers, with a plethora of big-name stores and independent boutiques to browse around. In Scarborough's cultural quarter, you'll also find charming galleries, museums and many Victorian landmarks for you to explore.  The town’s North Bay and South Bay are linked by Marine Drive, an extensive Victorian promenade, built around the base of the headland.
