    St. Mawes, is a pretty harbour side village that looks out over the River Fal towards the busy maritime town of Falmouth. The village is nestled at the end of the Roseland peninsula, giving it a unique charm that will captivate anyone that visits. Surrounded by the sea and gentle hills, St Mawes is quite spectacular. Also, tt’s position within the Gulf Stream, gives St Mawes very mild climate all year round, with temperatures reaching Mediterranean highs in the summer, making the ideal destination for sun lovers.

    St Mawes may not be the best known of Cornwall’s holiday resorts, but it’s certainly one of the prettiest. It’s a wonderful base for a holiday to Cornwall, with popular attractions such as the awe-inspiring Eden Project, the mystical Lost Gardens of Heligan and the National Trust’s Lanhydrock House all within easy reach.

    The list of things to do in St Mawes is endless, with its stunning beachfront, fine views and iconic treasures. A must-see on any St Mawes holiday is St Mawes Castle. Built by Henry VIII as a coastal artillery fortress, this well-preserved, cloverleaf-shaped castle is steeped in history and was used as a defense against the invasion by France. The Castle is now in the custodianship of English Heritage. Visitors to the castle will also be able to enjoy fabulous views of Flatmouth’s evocative landscape. 

    The village also has two very good beaches, on either side of the harbour; both are excellent for swimming and benefit from a southerly aspect.
