    The Lake District is famous for having inspiring poets and writers for generations, with William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Robert Southey being just a few of the well-known ‘Lakes Poets’.  

    It’s easy to see why it inspired them so, though - the placid lakes, beautiful forests and rolling fells are absolutely stunning. The charming towns and villages to be found here, such as Newby Bridge and Windermere, are ideal for great breaks as well.
