This marvellous city has a fantastic heritage, with the first record of Cambridge being from 973 CE. Cambridge’s fascinating history stretches through Roman times, when the city was a busy Roman settlement. The Saxons and the Vikings both staked claim to the city, and a building from this time still stands in Cambridge today - St Bene't's Church is the city’s oldest standing building.
