Holiday Details

Sunday: UK to Amman
Fly direct from your chosen airport to Amman. On arrival you will be met by our representative and transferred to the Days Inn Amman Hotel (or similar) for the next four nights. (B)

Monday: Pella & Umm Quais
We depart after breakfast to visit Pella and Umm Quais. Pella offers a whole host of must see sights including the remains of a Catholic settlement, the remains of Bronze and Iron Age walled cities, and the excavated ruin of a Greek-Roman theatre. We venture on to Umm Quais, overlooking the Jordan Valley and the Sea of Galilee. (B)

Tuesday: Jerash & Ajlun
After breakfast we depart for our tour of Jerash & Ajlun. Jerash was conquered by General Pompey in 63 BC. Take time to explore the Cathedral ruins before we continue on to Ajlun, travelling through pine forest and olive groves and many ancient sites. Once in Ajlun marvel at the towering 12thcentury Ayyubid castle. (B)

Wednesday: Amman & the Dead Sea
After breakfast we enjoy a City Tour of Amman. The capital of Jordan has an idyllic location on a hilly area between the desert and the fertile Jordan Valley. You can explore the Dead Sea this afternoon. Marvel at the dramatic landscape of the Jordan Rift Valley, over 400m below sea level. (B)

Thursday: Route to Petra
After breakfast we travel along the Kingsway Road, visiting en route Madaba (Saint George Church), Mount Nebo, Kerak Castle before reaching Petra for our two-night stay at the Grand View Hotel (or similar). (B)

Friday: Petra
After breakfast we embark on a full day visit of Petra, a city carved into the sheer rock face. Entrance to the city is through a narrow gorge, flanked on either side by 80m high cliffs and the colours and formulations of the rocks are breathtaking. (B)

Saturday: Wadi Rum
After breakfast we drive to Wadi Rum for a Jeep ride inside the red desert. An unspoilt place where the weather and winds have carved the imposing, towering skyscrapers. We return to Amman for our final night's stay.

Sunday: Amman to UK
After breakfast we transfer to Queen Alia International Airport for our return flight to the UK.
