Our airport transfers with National Express come with a fantastic luggage allowance - completely free of charge!
Per person travelling, customers can take:
- Two medium-sized suitcases or rucksacks, no longer than 85cm or exceeding 20kg each
- One small piece of soft hand luggage
If you need to take extra luggage on your holiday, this can be arranged at the coach station upon arrival. Extra baggage fees will be determined by how much extra luggage you need to take, and whether or not you’ll need extra for both legs of your journey.
One extra piece of luggage on a one-way journey will cost an additional £10; two extra pieces would be £20, and three would cost £30.
Are there any restricted items?
For the safety of all customers, there are some items not allowed on-board National Express coaches:
- Any weapons or explosives
- Drugs (other than medicines) or solvents
- Non-folding pushchairs/prams
- Oversized sports equipment
- Bicycles which aren't folded, dismantled or wrapped
- Any pets, other than assistance dogs

Is there wheelchair access?
National Express are passionate about providing consistently high levels of service to all our customers, whatever their circumstances.
When booking your holiday and transfer please advise your Shearings representative of any assistance needs, your representative will arrange with National Express any requirements ready for your journey.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my seat on the coach be reserved?
Your ticket guarantees you a seat, but does not reserve any particular place, so you can sit on any vacant seat when you board the coach.
Do the coaches take rest breaks?
On the majority of services, no – rest breaks will not be taken. However, all coaches are equipped with toilet and washroom facilities.
How far in advance can I book my ticket?
The vast majority of National Express timetables are valid from early-March to late-February every year, which allows you to book your journey up to one year in advance.
How long before the departure time should I arrive at my departure point?
You must be at the departure point at least 10 minutes prior to the coach departure time. National Express advise customers when booking your coach to the airport, you should plan to arrive at the airport no later than 3 hours before the departure time of your flight.
