  • Touring itinerary

A treasure trove of untapped beauty, a different world awaits you on the remote Shetland Isles, the most northerly point of the British Isles. Our comprehensive tour will leave you with fond memories of this unique destination.

Our holiday begins as we travel up through the Scottish borders to Aberdeen, for our first overnight stay. Aberdeen is known as the 'Sparkling City', due to the granite used in many of the buildings. After time to explore the next day, we take the overnight ferry crossing to Lerwick, where we meet our local guide the next morning and begin our comprehensive trip around the islands, from our base in Sumburgh.

As we explore the mainland, we'll pass some dramatic scenery, including Sumburgh Head and Scord Viewpoint, as well as visiting the interesting Tangwick Haa, Shetland and Scalloway Museums for an insight into the islands' history. Other places of interest include the poignant Sullom Voe Memorial, medieval Scalloway Castle and fascinating Jarlshof, which has been described as one of the most remarkable archaeological sites in the British Isles. When storms ripped open the cliffs here, they revealed an extraordinary settlement embracing 4,000 years of human history.

Travelling by ferry, we'll also explore the northern islands of Yell and Unst, the furthest north you can travel in Britain. Here you'll be dazzled by the enchanting landscapes of moorland wilderness and fjords as we enjoy a scenic drive.

The Shetlands are a wonderful destination to explore and we look forward to introducing you to the islands on our unique holiday.
