Good Break

We had a good stay at this hotel. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was also very good very varied. Room we stayed was good nice and clean fresh towels when needed ideal for all our needs. Debbie our driver was excellent and also made our stay enjoyable. Would come and stay again any time. We were a little disappointed with the trips we thought we were going to a distillery which we did not but apart from that we had a very good time and a rest that we needed thank you.

Wonderful Hotel and Weather for March

First I must thank Tony at reception for the efficient way he resolved our room situation, explanation we weren't on the hotel list (we had booked late) a twin room, but were giving an upgrade to a double room. Room two on the ground floor. Food was warm & of a good standard, staff always happy to help, if you want anything just ask. Invercauld Arms Braemar well worth a visit. I have videos of Shearings Hotels on YouTube gtritchie5 Debbie or coach driver was brilliant.

Cold Break

Five of us booked a Shearings Break at this Hotel. Food was hot and the staff were so very friendly plus the driver's on the coaches were fab, always had us in stitches with their jokes. The only complaint we have is the heating, or lack of it...I should say...hotel was freezing all the time. Only warm place was in the shower or when radiator in room came on...staff behind bar wore what puffer jackets on afternoons to keep warm...we were never without jumpers on and still we were frozen...

A lovely group holiday

Six of us took a midweek break and we all agreed the hotel provided a good standard of accommodation and great value for money. My partner and I had stayed at this hotel last year and the dinners were, at that time, not terribly good. However, things have improved significantly. This time the food got the thumbs up from all 6 of us, for both breakfast and dinner.

Poor Food

Unlike other Shearings Hotels where we stayed, the food was poor. Chunky vegetable soup with no vegetables. Burnt new potatoes served two days running. Beef stew full of mushrooms and no beef! No mention of mushrooms on menu I am allergic to musrooms. Very slow service, waitress seemed to be on a different wavelength. Asking what we wanted for breakfast when we were already eating it! Bar staff do not know what a shandy is or a sherry. Rest of hotel good. Entertainer on Wednesday S Quigg excellent.

Christmas in a nice hotel

Just returned from holiday at your hotel with my wife and have to say we enjoyed it so much. We thank your wonderful staff for making it so good, you have a good hard working team and are a credit to you. The room (11) was very large and comfortable one of the best we have stayed in also the choice of food was excellent and well presented. Love the log fire in front lounge wish I could have one at home. Thank you Ray and Barbara Evans.

Relaxing Break

Had an enjoyable 3 night stay at this lovely old charm hotel. Room a little dark but cleanliness ,warmth and comfort spot on. Food super and service excellent. Nothing was too much bother for staff who were efficient and helpful. Entertainment no 2 nights we were here "ok" not our scene but we just sat in the comfortable bar chatting with other residents. Beautiful scenery even with the odd snow flurry. Definitely would come here again. Well done Shearings!

My wife and I enjoyed our 4 night stay at this hotel. The staff were helpful and pleasant. Room needs an upgrade but saying that was comfortable clean and warm. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice.

Fantastic Hotel

Had a fabulous 4 days. Room spotless. Dining room staff are very helpful and will alter meals to your taste. Entertainment room is not big enough to cater for 2 coaches. But this was the only fault I could find. Carlos (manger) and Jane his assistant are always ready to talk, no matter how busy they are.

Nice Hotel

Had a good weekend walking in the local area. Staff, room and food excellent. Only problem was every time staff went out the back entrance the door banged and we were above. As staff were still using this door at midnight to go to their quarters it was a bit annoying and the same applied coming in to work early morning. If the banging was stopped it would have got 5 stars.

Good Hotel

My Wife and I enjoyed our 4 night stay at this hotel. The "standard" room was the best we have had to-date in any of the Shearing Hotels in terms of its condition and room facilities. The choice of food was good and the service excellent. The only disappointment was that the room used for the entertainment was inappropriate for the entertainment offer.
