Set in its own grounds, overlooking Royal Dornoch Golf Course and the sandy beaches of the Dornoch Firth, this attractive hotel is a few minutes walk from the centre of Dornoch, an enchanting little cathedral town with a spacious square and wide streets. Linger in the hotel's relaxed tempo and timeless sense of comfort - a spacious reception area with fine sweeping stairway, wood panelled bar and sun lounge with lovely views are welcoming retreats. This is an excellent base for visiting the remote scenery of Scotland's far north and for an array of outdoor sporting activities. The hill-strewn moorland terrain, jewelled with lochs, has a wild charm of its own and is ideal for exploring Easter Ross and Ben Armine Forest.

Review of hotel Dornoch Hotel from 17/05/2010 00:00:00

A little bit of snow!

 My wife and I, plus a couple of friends visited Dornoch,and this fine hotel at the beginning of January. Firstly, must I congratulate the Shearings coach drivers, conditions were,well,very snowy. Anyhow, we made it to the hotel around 8.30pm on the Monday evening. A warm welcome was to be had, all the staff were excellent, the entertainment was good, and the free bar til 10pm..even better!! The food was plentiful and good, and the rooms were cosy, ideal for all the snow outside.I'll go again.
