Our most luxurious room option, most of our Premier Rooms come with a four poster bed as well as a spacious refitted bathroom that accommodates both bath and a separate shower. These bedrooms will normally offer extras such as comfortable seating area, a 32 inch digital flat screen television, hair dryer as well as a hospitality tray.
Our Superior Rooms are more spacious and tastefully refurbished, they offer luxurious beds, a 26 inch digital flat screen television. The spacious bathrooms have been refitted with shower over bath. These rooms also come with the facilities to make yourself a hot drink.
Our Standard Rooms are charming and have everything you would expect. The rooms have digital televisions, tea and coffee making facilities as well as an en-suite bathroom.

Just spent a wonderful stay at Waverly castle hotel we travelled on shearing coach super driver, food good, trips good, a must for all travellers is a walk down to the town of Melrose and visit the ship inn there fish and chips are great, the staff were waiting to serve you on time, the room was clean and warm the entertainment was very good. I would just like to thank all the staff for a great stay.

We had a fantastic stay at Waverly hotel...we travelled there with Shearings on 11th march in the most awful weather conditions and didn’t arrive until 10pm we didn’t think we would get dinner that night because of the late arrival, but friendly smiling staff were waiting to serve us a 3 course meal. We had a ground floor room that was very clean and lovely and warm and we very much enjoyed our 4 night stay..A special mention to our lovely waitress Suzanna who never stopped smiling.

Just spent 4 nights with 5 lady friends and we had a wonderful time, the rooms were clean, warm and spacious. The food was very good with an excellent varied menu. All the staff were very helpful, a special mention to Sandra our waitress and the night porter on Wed 16th who helped us get one of our party to hospital. The entertainment was super, we laughed a lot. James is very professional and should be doing better things! Garry was great fun had us well and truly involved named us the 6 sisters!

Hospitality, good quality crackers, hats, Christmas cake, wine and carols made our stay that little bit extra! The chef and his team produced some excellent food which was served to us by very speedy and pleasant waiters and James is certainly a very professional entertainer. The hotel is a little dated in some areas but spotlessly clean and excellent value for money. Having been in February we decided to return for Turkey and Tinsel and were not disappointed. See you next Christmas!

We stayed at the hotel for 4 days with friends had a great break, the staff were very good and friendly the food was good better than we expected from the reports we read. The entertainment was very good I left my I pad beside the bed as soon as I realised when we got home I phoned the hotel and it had been handed to reception, I arranged for it to be posted to me this was at 6pm Friday night and it arrived with the first post Monday I think that this was an amazing service Thanks to all involved.

Just returned from a short break hotel good room really nice but only had a shower James was very good only down fall was no entertainment on the Sunday could have done with some kind of music value for money yes next time I come I will ask for a room with a bath.

We have just returned from Melrose and had a wonderful time. The room was very large with a big bathroom. Lovely to soak in a bath again. Only down was not enough shelf space in the bathroom all the staff were very friendly and helpful and in the evening, the entertainment was very good. James had us laughing all evening. Well done James a great entertainer.

Just returned from a great break. The food was excellent and the room very nice. All the staff were very helpful, first class service from them all. James the entertainer was on every night and we enjoyed very much, could not stop laughing. The only down side was that the bar did not open until 5.30 pm.

Hotel is in need of a complete update, but staff are friendly and efficient. We always choose Shearings for the entertainment and Jay Jackson on the Fri night was excellent, we danced all night, same with James on Sat. but nothing on Sun. Could it not be possible to have suitable taped music playing on loop system in ballroom for guests who can't go out walking at night especially when raining. Will be back just not on Sundays.

Having used Shearings hotels before we know that the rooms will be dated but this was the poorest we have had. The bathroom was small and water pressure very low from shower and bath panel held together with duct tape The room was small and clean but wallpaper was stained with damp and coming away from wall. Window was on a chain so could only be opened about 5 inches and carpet and bed linen needs replacing. Food and staff were good but it was James the entertainer who saved the day for us, he was great!

Such an experience for me my 1st hotel holiday can’t say THANK YOU enough for making it a wonderful time. ALL staff were brilliant, food excellent, room. Best sleep I’ve had in years. The surroundings breathtakingly beautiful. Now the entertainment... well James is London West End quality he is so hilarious not laughed like that in a long time. Also Garry, Ian, Piper and dancer were brilliant. Value for money Oh yes all of the holiday fantastic. Got home and had a weep. Miss Scotland so much.

Picked this hotel as it looked nice but did not realise it was for O.A.P.S only there was not a young person to be seen we booked a superior room not sure what was superior about it was very noisy they need to get floorboards sorted food on menu very dated so we ate out.

Hotel is fairly pleasant. Standard room needs updating, bathroom cold, paper coming off wall, needs new carpet in bedroom. Restaurant - service slow and on 3 occasions evening meal choice had run-out and we had to choose an alternative. Reception staff and bar staff were good. Entertainment was also good and James the resident entertainer worked very hard to keep us entertained. If you want a good room you will need to upgrade.

We picked this hotel as this was the only Shearings hotel in Scotland we had not visited. The rooms were warm, clean and adequate. The food excellent. Great location for walks along the Tweed to Melrose /Galashiels. Staff were good and very helpful. Entertainment was good, but James/Phil deserves a special mention. Great value for money and we will be back!

Great hotel. Room bit small but clean. Food good. Had to wait 35 mins before we got a waiter to take are order, and had to go without breakfast there at 10 past 8 still no food at 10 to 9. Some dinning staff not good. Hotel staff were great.

Just had a fab weekend with my family. Mother, brothers and sister with partners. Special mention to Trainee Manager Jackie and Receptionist Christine. They went out of their way to help when my husbands' wheelchair would not fit through bathroom door. Moved things around even though hotel was full so we could get a suitable room. Also changed the table for dinner as it was not high enough for wheelchair. James was excellent had us in stitches and Elvis tribute (Adam Carter) was fab. Would return.

My husband, family and friends stayed for 3 nights. The food was good although they kept running out. The rooms needed updating but were clean. Biggest disappointment was the entertainment. On the first night we had a singer but on the Saturday night it was only the compare. Most of our company went into town. We have stayed at Shearings hotels before so expected more especially as we were told on booking there would be entertainment. Drink a bit expensive and bar doesn't open until 5.30pm 5/10

Just spent 4 nights at the Waverley Castle. Although our bedroom and bathroom were on the small side, it didn't stop us having a great break. The hotel is set in a picturesque location, in its own grounds. The bus stops to local towns were either across the road or just around the corner, or take a leisurely walk by the River Tweed into Melrose. Meals - good always plenty of choice, something for everyone. Entertainment - the guest artists were excellent and James the resident artist was a scream.

We picked this hotel because the advert implied it was in Melrose. As we were reliant on public transport it was very disappointing to find the town was 1 1/2 miles away. The hotel had put together a local bus timetable which was not very suitable. A supply of First Bus timetables would have been more helpful. Now that we have worked out how to get about we would come again as the hotel was very nice. The dining staff were excellent and the food also very enjoyable.

To celebrate my birthday, 8 of us girls went on a 'girlie' weekend to the Waverley Castle and had a ball. The rooms were lovely and warm, and the food was excellent. Our waiter, Jose' couldn’t have been more obliging, nothing was a trouble to him. Also Tania deserves a mention as she was lovely, and catered to all our needs. The entertainment was great, and we laughed so much at James, our sides were sore!! We certainly will return, and may bring our husbands next time!
