About The Pitlochry Hydro Hotel

Just ten minutes walk from the town centre, the historic and recently refurbished Pitlochry Hydro Hotel overlooks the town of Pitlochry itself.

The Pitlochry Hydro hotel offers an excellent range of facilities for visitors, including a modern, well-equipped gym and heated indoor swimming pool.

The hotel houses all of the amenities and facilities you would expect from a Coast & Country venue. In addition, our staff will offer you a warm, friendly welcome, and ensure that your stay is as relaxing and memorable as possible.

Pitlochry is a superb base for walkers. Ben Vrackie towers above the town, and the Cairngorm Massif is close by to the North. Loch Tummel and Loch Rannoch are also easily explored using the hotel as a base.

Why ‘Hydro’ Hotel?

The building has always been a hotel since its construction in 1890. The ‘hydro’ part of the name was so called because the waters in the surrounding area were found to be rich in hydrogen, and beneficial to health.

Local Attractions

The Pitlochry area is famed as a haven for hikers and lovers of the outdoors, with its magnificent mountain scenery and serene, magical lochs. Pitlochry is also a wonderful area from which to visit sites of historical significance.

After over 10 years here, I think I am well qualified to know the hotel and the area and why people come to stay with us. The surrounding scenery is spectacular and Pitlochry itself is a charming town. It’s the perfect base from which to explore the Perthshire Highlands.

My personal favourite is visiting our superb Scottish whisky distilleries. Just four miles from us is the Edradour Distillery, the smallest one in Scotland. If you are more sports minded, we also have two excellent golf courses close by.

Review of hotel The Pitlochry Hydro Hotel from 18/02/2010 00:00:00

In my opinon, as a frequent visitor, this is one of the flagship hotels within the Coast & Country chain. The Management & Staff are very helpful and professional; the standard of the facilities are superb; the selection of food available is excellent. If you have any special requests/needs nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff.
