Tarbet Hotel Loch Lomond

Had a great holiday in this hotel with Shearings. Upgraded to lake view and had a large modern room which was well kept and good view. Staff great, food good and plenty of hot water. Very tranquil setting and can't understand negative comments. Driver Graham made the holiday with his humour and good nature, and was very helpful and informative.

Tarbet Hotel Loch Lomond

Just back from Tarbet Hotel with Shearings on a 5 day holiday had a fantastic holiday, hotel very clean and warm, food great plenty of choice, entertainment good, staff very friendly and helpful, but most of all our driver Graham he was fantastic had us laughing all the time his humour and jokes was second to none and his knowledge of the history of our tours was excellent. Will be going back. Thanks again Graham.

Tarbet Hotel

Returned from our break from Tarbet Hotel. The hotel was ok, but needs some updating and decorating. Warm rooms, with plenty of hot water. Rooms clean, but could be cleaner. Not a holiday with children as not much for them to do. Downside to the holiday was the long stay at Normanton due to two coaches being put together. This resulted in having to leave the hotel earlier than originally told to meet up with the other coach pick up times. This in turn meant an extra hours wait at Normanton.

Good value

Our first coach holiday, so was not sure what to The staff were friendly and helpful. Food was ok. The hotel it's self was in a beautiful location, and a big stone building with a view of Ben Lomond. The hotel was very warm, and plenty of hot water at all times. The hotel would be idiot from some TLC it's crying out for some decoration, and a deep clean in places. Overall good value for money. Downside to our trip stop over in Normanton terminal. Awfull place.

Great Service

My Wife and I recently stayed at the Tarbet with two of our friends. The week before we went my wife found out that she had an intolerance to milk and lamb, we did not have time to point this out, but after speaking to both the Chef and Dominic in the dining room they went out of their way in getting special bread and ensuring that everything was ok. We cannot thank them all enough especially Dom WHO WENT THE EXTRA MILE.

Great Value

Our first Shearings experience! Our 5 day break at the Tarbet was great. The food was very good with a good varied men & perfect waiter service. We have no complaints about our room , very clean and warm with plenty of tea & coffee supplies topped up daily. Good entertainment in the evenings and thanks to Jimmy for our journey there and back and our trips out. Altogether a very enjoyable break. Value for money is more than excellent. Thank you all.

Hotels needs TLC

Just back from this hotel staff were brilliant couldn't do enough for you, but the room we had needed a good clean ingrained dirt on door and skirting boards. The whole hotel needs a lot of TLC. Squeaky floorboards were an issue, as for the mattress don't go with a sore back it will only get worse. On the good side bar and dining room spotless and food was excellent.

Great 4 Night Winter Break

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Tarbet Hotel. Great group of staff especially Diane our waitress who could not do more to be helpful. Good entertainment especially on Gala night. Great value for money. Only down side was the lack of hot water after 10pm, creaking floorboards in the corridors, only 4 TV channels and bedroom needed upgrading. A coat of paint would suffice.

Lovely 3 night break

My husband and I have just returned from the Tarbet Hotel after a weekend break, this is the third stay at this hotel the last time been 3 years ago. There have been some changes mainly to the reception and bar area, all for the better. As usual the staff are very friendly and helpful as we had to change room. The only problem is the hot water is not always available as on a timer, had to have a cold bath Friday evening 21:45pm! Upgrade on TV/DVD PLAYER would be good as very old. Great stay!

Superb

We stayed for 4 nights at the Tarbet Hotel during the rainy season - it didn't stop. Our room was large and clean, food was great and lots of it. Entertainment was excellent on all four nights. All staff were a credit to the hotel as was Jimmy our coach driver. All three trips out were great as were the journey to and from the Tarbet. All in all a fantastic value for money early season short break.

Brilliant

Stayed at the Tarbet Hotel for 3 nights and had a great time. Food very good apart from the tinned turkey on the gala night but overall a great break and value for money. Staff at the hotel couldn’t have been more helpful and very pleasant. Entertainment every night was a bonus and we will return to this hotel in the future.

Absolutely BRILLIANT

I have just had a week’s holiday in Loch Lomond (10th to 17th August, 2013) staying at the Bay Hotel, Tarbet, and I wish to express my gratitude to the staff at the hotel for their help in making my holiday so enjoyable. I also want to thank our driver DENNIS who also made the holiday so enjoyable. Not only was Dennis a superb driver, he also gave an excellent commentary throughout the week, despite having a very bad throat for most of the week. I look forward to using SHEARINGS again next year.

The Greatest Holiday

The best week ever. I met some lovely people and had such a great time. Although I am 93 I found it easy to get around good entertainment altogether a perfect place to stay. I met one person in particular they asked me my phone number as she lives near me and we were to meet for coffee. But on the day she rang the door bell rang at the same time and I had to put the phone down.  Her first name was Catherine we stayed on the 14/07/13. Please help with her second name if you can I can look her up.

Everything we could have hoped for

Just arrived back from this hotel. The weather was perfect which added to the bonus of having a good holiday. Lovely location, good food, good shearings excursions, and good accommodation. Some decent entertainment as well. It would have been perfect if the drinks were a bit cheaper as there was no alternative pubs or hotels nearby for anyone with health or mobility problems.

De-stressing weekend

Had a great time, room excellent, all staff brilliant. Waitress couldn't do enough for us. Food excellent, a very nice mixture and choice. Gentleman on reception had to deal with a drunken non-resident, which he did with humour and professionalism. Second time at this hotel and we will be back soon. Thanks to all the staff for a very relaxing time.

Relaxing Weekend

Just arrived back from a lovely weekend at the Tarbet Hotel, Loch Lomond. I couldn't fault anything about the stay, the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for any of them. The restaurant manager Dom was especially lovely and very helpful, the service in the restaurant was second to none and that was all down to him. I had a lovely time and hope to go back very soon xx

Belated 25th Anniversary In Style

We booked this holiday in the 7 day sale as I had been in hospital for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. A bay inclusive deal for £99 each. So as you can imagine we had low expectations and decided to be willing to accept a lower standard, safe in the knowledge that we did have 4 free drinks everyday... WOW: 5 star welcome. Brilliant food. Lovely bedroom with heaps of hot water. Our coach driver, Graham a Glaswegian, always ensured a brilliant time was had whilst on excursions. Go on book it!!!

Excellent food and staff

Stayed here for 5 days, nothing was too much trouble for the Staff. Food good and varied. Entertainment excellent. The only gripe I have, had to pay £60 extra for a Single room and the room was terrible, very cold had to put a blanket up by the window and a towel at the bottom of the door, in fact the bedroom was like sleeping in a fridge. I wouldn't stay here again, until the Hotel changes its policy on single room supplement. Why pay extra to be given an inferior room, doesn't make sense.

Amazing value, food all round very good, good choice. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lounge and bars are very nice. Decor in rooms a little tired. We also had free drink vouchers for 8 drinks. We had great time. Steve.

Pleasant stay, friendly staff

Reception areas comfortable, bedroom and bathroom clean and comfortable. Our only complaint was the creaky floorboards in the corridor outside our room. There was no point trying to sleep until the bar closed and the remaining guests had trooped past our room and we certainly never needed an alarm call in the morning.

Excellent Stay 4 Star

Broke our journey home from Fort William and found the Tarbet Hotel first class and a breath of fresh air from the Caledonian Hotel which we would not return too. We have been to the Tarbet Hotel on many occasions and on this visit found the refurbishment excellent. The hotel was fresh and clean and the food first class. All the staff was pleasant and helpful .The entertainment was far. Would recommend the Tarbet Hotel.

Best Value for Money / Greatest Staff

This has to be the best value for money available. The views from the loch View rooms are worth the bit extra. Rooms always very clean, food always excellent and the staff are the most welcoming and hard working you will find! The asst. manager Gary is an angel, nothing is ever too much trouble and Davie always cheers up my morning. There are too many hard working staff to mention. Our thanks to you all!!!! xxx

Short Break

What a stay we had it was great. myself; wife; sister and her husband stayed here for 3 nights Friday 9th December the food was fantastic rooms were clean as was all other guest areas I can’t praise the hotels staff for their total commitment to everyone, even though the hotel was having a lot of work done when we were there. Well done to all of the staff as I was a bit weary after reading some bad reviews on trip adviser. Will stay again.

A Little Put Out With Bar

Surely you could have told your guests about bar being closed. The upgrade caused problems for your first class manager and his team' who handled the flack 'and worked hard to keep everyone happy. That’s my moan ' nice clean and comfy bedroom' food was very good. The hotel is in a beautiful location. 3 stars when it should have been 5. Still fantastic value for money.

Tarbet Hotel - Loch Lomond

The 5 day Monday to Friday holiday was brilliant for the money we paid. The hotel catered extremely well for a client with a gluten-free diet. Although the bar area was being re-furbished, the staff catered well by using the dining room as the entertainment area too. Praise to the Manager for doing such a good job.

Good Weekend

We stayed at the Tarbet Hotel 23rd September 2011 for 2 nights. The staff, food & entertainment were great. Rooms were very clean the only down side is the room decor that seems to be in the 1970's. There was no shower in the bathroom which was a bit of a problem. I would certainly stay again and maybe upgrade the room.
