Open from late April until mid-September, the Lido area is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Situated right on the lake, you can take a dip in the large outdoor pool, soak up the Italian sunshine as your recline on a sun-lounger, choose from a selection of all-inclusive drinks from the bar area, and enjoy live music. There’s also an a la carte lakeside restaurant – and as a guest of Shearings, you’ll save 20% on the standard prices.

In the welcoming bar you’ll enjoy live music and singing most evenings –with the chance to dance the night away should the mood take you! Remember, your package includes free drinks from 8.30am to midnight, with a selection of beers, wines, spirits, soft drinks and hot drinks to choose from.

New for 2013, the hotel is proud to unveil its fantastic new “floating” pool. A floating platform is set into the lake, complete with sun-loungers and a large swimming pool. What better way to admire Lake Como’s beautiful blue waters in the summer sun?

For breakfast you can choose from a wide range of cooked and continental items. At lunchtime, you can enjoy a light snack or a three-course meal – and don’t forget to order your complimentary packed lunch if you’re out and about for the day.

After a hard day’s sightseeing, you’ll be ready for your dinner. Do try the Italian specialities of pasta and pizza, and help yourself to a selection of meats, fish and vegetables. Make sure you leave room for dessert – every day you’ll find a selection of tempting options, including a wide range of ice creams.

All meals are served buffet-style, so you can try anything on the menu that takes your fancy. One thing’s for sure – you certainly won’t go hungry!

Originally constructed in the early 1900s, The Britannia Excelsior has been tastefully furnished in traditional Italian style, with antique furnishings, frescoes, Merano glass and elegant marble floors.

Today, the hotel is owned and managed by the Whieldon family, who are passionately dedicated to creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for their guests. No wonder so many Shearings holiday-makers return year after year.
