Whitby is a lovely old fishing town with winding cobbled streets and pretty buildings that make you feel as if you’ve gone back in time. Overlooking the town are the cliff top ruins of the dramatic abbey which inspired Bram Stoker to write the book ‘Dracula’.  There’s something mysterious and intriguing about Whitby, which is highlighted by the presence of beautiful fossils that anyone can find along the shoreline, the seaside fortune tellers and the ghost walks that tell of the town’s spooky past.

Whitby has several different beaches, so if you like building sandcastles, walking along the piers, fossil hunting, looking in rock pools or swimming in the sea, then Whitby’s for you. Whitby also provides the ideal base from which to explore the North Yorkshire Moors and the rest of the Yorkshire Coast.
