September 23 Venice, Italy Depart 17.30: Embark the MSC Musica as we set sail for our Eastern Mediterranean cruise from Venice.
September 24 Bari, Italy Arrive 12.00, Depart 18.00: Bari features a compact old town with a medieval feel and several historically important buildings. The Normans captured Bari in 1071 and used it as a port for launching many crusades. Today it is famous for its beaches, palm-lined promenade, fabulous food and sun. Venture further afield to see the uniquely built dry-stone houses, or Trulli, of Alberabello.
September 25 Katakolon, Greece Arrive 12.30, Depart 17.00: From Katakolon you can take a tour to see the birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games, Olympia. Here you could explore the Archaeological Museum, a treasure house of Archaic, Classical and Roman sculptures. You could also enjoy some local wine tasting or just soak up the sun.
September 26 Mykonos & Santorini, Greece Arrive 08.00, Depart 14.30: Mykonos Arrive 19.30, Depart 01.00 Santorini See the Mykonos windmills or little Venice and discover the picturesqe Santorini. No other area of Greece has been photographed as much as Santorini. Enjoy the white-washed houses clinging to hillside. Beyond the beaches, there is Akrotiri, a roughly 3,500 year old Minoan town preserved in volcanic ash like Pompeii.
September 27 Mykonos to Pireo (for Athens) Arrive 07.30, Depart 16.30: The historic sites of Athens are too many to name! Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Acropolis, Hadrian’s Arch, the Parthenon – you are spoilt for choice. Take the time to wander around picturesque Plaka, the well-preserved old town of Athens, filled with numerous arts and crafts shops, restaurants, and cafes.
September 28 Corfu, Greece Arrive 13.00, Depart 19.00: Take a tour to see the waterfall of Nymphs, the 17th to 19th century mansions, marble church, and 17th-century monastery of Kynopiastes or Achilleion, a palace built by Empress Elisabeth of Austria. Make sure to try the Greek version of ginger beer.
September 29 Dubrovnik, Croatia Arrive 08.00, Depart 14.00: Dubrovnik rivalled Venice as a seaport in the middle ages and as a result is steeped in stunning architecture. Stroll along the city walls or down the Stradun, the central street of the city and the place where the old city comes to life. Dubrovnik’s twin fortresses, Bokar and Lovrijenac beg exploration. Head into the Croatian countryside to visit beautiful stately homes, the historic town of Ston or experience the warm hospitality of quiet coastal villages.
September 30 Venice, Italy Arrive 09.00: Time to say goodbye and disembark the MSC Musica.
