Holiday Details

Day 1: From home to Dublin
For travel by coach, we make our way to Holyhead for the ferry crossing to Ireland, and on to our overnight stay at the contemporary Carlton Hotel Blanchardstown in Dublin. If you decide to fly to Ireland, simply make your own way to your chosen airport, and once in Dublin, we’ll collect and take you on to your hotel, where the holiday begins!
Day 2: From Dublin to Co. Limerick, enjoying a scenic river cruise
After a hearty breakfast, we leave Dublin and journey across to the Shannon region, calling at Shannonbridge, where we sit back, relax and enjoy a cruise along the River Shannon, before continuing on to the picturesque village of Castleconnel for our five night stay at the welcoming Castle Oaks Hotel, set in acres of beautiful countryside.
Day 3: Shannon's dramatic coast and Medieval Banquet at Bunratty Castle
A great day ahead today, taking in some of the Shannon region's natural beauty, as we enjoy a tour to the Burren, a lunar-like landscape of stone and Alpine flora, and along the Atlantic coast to see the magnificent Cliffs of Moher. We go on to Bunratty Castle for an evening to remember! A kilted piper plays a tune of welcome as we enter the castle and enjoy a goblet of mead, then we learn of some of the castle's history, before our dinner in the banquet hall in medieval style with candlelit bench seating, accompanied by music and song! After dinner, relax and enjoy some evening entertainment before returning to our hotel.
Day 4: A free day in Castleconnell
Today you will have chance to relax and recharge your batteries as we have a free day. Make the most of the hotel's leisure facilities, including indoor pool, gym, sauna and steam room, take a stroll in the extensive grounds, or maybe venture into Castleconnell village - the choice is yours!
Day 5: We're off to Limerick and Adare!
After a leisurely breakfast we enjoy a jaunt to bustling Limerick, for the chance to discover this ancient city, with its charming views along the River Shannon, before going on to visit Ireland's picture-postcard village of Adare, one of Shannon's best kept secrets, with it's quaint thatched roof cottages and ivy-clad medieval churches, it is such a beautiful place to explore.
Day 6: Relax in Castleconnell
Explore Castleconnell, rest and relax at the hotel or why not join us on an optional excursion to Tipperary and Cashel - the choice is yours!
Day 7: Shannon to Dublin
Our time in Shannon is drawing to an end, as we journey back across country, driving through the Slieve Broom mountain range, where the looming mountains rise suddenly from surrounding plain, giving an imposing appearance. We continue on to Dublin, where we stay tonight at the comfortable Park Plaza Hotel.
Day 8: From Dublin to home
We enjoy a full Irish breakfast before heading for the return flight home
  • 6 day breaks by air also available flying into Shannon, following the itinerary for days 3-6 above - please call for details!
