    Beginning with an en route trip to the charming town of Trier, we’ll enjoy time at leisure to visit the Christmas markets here. We’ll then enjoy a full day included excursion to historical on the Moselle, which will be decked out with traditional decorations amidst the half-timbered houses and narrow winding streets so typical of the region, as well as calling at delightful Bernkastel-Kues.

    As we begin our return journey, we will enjoy an en route excursion to medieval Bruges’ Christmas markets, which will be filled with festive cheer.

    Enjoy an en route stop in the magical city of Bruges, made all the more amazing for its festive Christmas markets! Take in the delicious smell of coffee, chocolate and waffles, admire the twinkling Christmas lights, and browse the many stalls. Why not pick up some unique Christmas gifts during our visit?

    Set in a village of half-timbered houses, a fairy-tale castle set on a vine-clad hill, and a pleasant riverside promenade, the Cochem Christmas Market is as beautiful as the village itself. Browse the festively decorated wooden stalls selling a wide variety of gifts and crafts. It will then be time to continue on to the beautiful village of Bernkastel-Kues.

    We pay an en route visit to the beautiful city of Trier during our holiday. Located close to the border of Luxembourg, Trier is known for its beautiful setting and wonderful attractions. While we’re here, we'll get to explore the city's fantastic Christmas markets - take in the festive atmosphere and admire the many stalls.

    While we’re in Bruges, we’ll be given the opportunity to enjoy a guided walking tour, which will help us to find out more about the city itself. We’ll also be taken past some of the city’s most famous attractions, which will allow us to learn more about their history and heritage, so that we can get a better understanding of this excellent location.

    Guided Walking Tour of Trier
    The oldest city in Germany and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986, Trier is home to an outstanding assortment of Roman monuments and architectural gems. During our excursion today, we will enjoy a guided walking tour of the city.  

    Founded by the Romans as Augusta Treverorum in 15 BC, Trier became the capital of the Western Roman Empire by the 3rd century AD. Our guided walking tour takes us to Porta Nigra (symbol of the city of Trier and the biggest gate of the ancient world), the house of the Three Magi, the Hauptmarkt (Main Market) with the imposing tower of St Gangolf’s Church, the stunning St Peter’s Cathedral and the Liebfrauenkirch (Church of our Lady), which is one of the most important early Gothic cathedrals in Germany.
