Join us on a trip to historical Tratzberg Castle, dating from the 13th century. This spectacular castle is known for its beautiful Renaissance-style architecture, and for being Emperor Maximilian’s I hunting lodge.

We will then enjoy an excursion to Rattenberg, Austria’s smallest town. Surrounded by stunning Alpine scenery, we’ll take in a traditional glass-blowing demonstration and will have time to explore at leisure. It will then be time to continue on to the town of Pill, where we will visit the Schnapps Museum, for a taste of the region’s heritage drink.

We can also join a guided walking tour of Achenkirch to see its sights. Back at our hotel, there will be an interesting Apfelstrudel demonstration to take in this afternoon.

Our final included excursion will take us on a relaxing train-ride on-board the Pinzgau Panoramic Railway, taking in the beautiful alpine views. We’ll also call at Krimml Falls, Austria’s highest waterfall, set in the High Tauern National Park.

Join us as we explore Rattenberg, known for its idyllic charm and glorious views. The scenery is second to none here, with the huge Rat Mountain forming a backdrop to the town. There are lots of fun things to do; including shopping on the main street, where we’ll find numerous shops selling the crystal glass the town is famous for.

    Tratzberg Castle

    OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS

    Innsbruck
    Full Day: Innsbruck

Innsbruck is a wonderful city and is, in fact, the capital city of Tyrol. Its placement in a valley means it features excellent scenery, with high mountains on all sides. This Alpine scenery makes the city even more mesmerising, but there’s a lot more to see in the city besides its views.

For instance, while at leisure in Innsbruck, you may choose to visit some of the many attractions the city has to offer, such as Ambras Castle, the Rococo-style Helblinghaus and, opposite it, the iconic Goldenes Dachl, which many see as Innsbruck’s symbol. This building features thousands of fire-gilded copper tiles that account for its name, which can be translated as ‘Golden Roof’. It was built for Emperor Maximilian I when he married Bianca Maria Sforza in 1500.

    Lake Achensee
    Half Day: Achensee Cruise
We’ll make our way to beautiful Lake Achen, the largest lake in Tyrol known as the 'Fjord of the Alps'. This picturesque alpine lake is always popular, and we’ll be able to enjoy an optional cruise to soak up the splendid scenery and relax in the pleasant atmosphere.
    Innsbruck
    Innsbruck Guided Walking Tour

To learn more about Innsbruck, and to take in even more of the splendid sights, we’ll also be able to join an optional guided walking tour of the city. This will give us greater insight into Innsbruck’s history, and will allow us to tour more of the city.
