Admire the Pope’s Palace (Palais des Papes), listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and decorated with incredible 14th-century frescos. Lyon
    Guided Visit of Lyon
Discover this beautiful city with our guided visit by coach and on foot. One of the world’s most archeologically-rich cities, only Rome offers up more amazing historical sights. Lyon also boasts the second-largest Renaissance sector, behind Venice. During our guided tour, we will take in the city’s Fourviere Basilica and its Old Town, with the beautiful Saint Jean district.
    Guided Visit of Tournon

Welcome to Tournon, located in the heart of the Rhone Valley at the gates of the Provence. Our guided visit to this excellent city will see us take in its many historical monuments and shopping areas, as we begin with a trip to the Chateau Museum. Discover the permanent exhibition tracing the history of the Rhone here, and learn about the history of this castle museum. The castle was built on a high granite rock overlooking the town from a strategic position, and it was the domain of the barony of the Counts of Tournon.

Beneath the castle, we will find Tournon’s Old Town, dating from the Middle Ages. Our tour comes to an end with a tasting of regional products and wines, before we make our way back to the ship at leisure.

    The Abbey at Cluny
Leaving the ship in Macon, we will travel by coach to Cluny Abbey. Discover this ancient Benedictine abbey with our expert guide, leaning more about its history. The church has uncommon dimensions for Romanesque architecture and was built in 1130, with Hezelon de Liege as its principal architect. It’s said that the origin of Cluny’s construction was a monk’s dream. After our tour, we return to the ship in Macon.
    Camargue scenery
    Tour of the Camargue
Join us as we enjoy the opportunity to admire the stunning natural beauty of the Camargue, situated between the arms of the River Rhone. We will then make our way to the charming village of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, known for its gypsy gatherings, where we will enjoy free time to explore at leisure.
    Roman arena in Arles
    Visit of Arles

We’ll take a guided walking tour of Arles today, uncovering its 2,000 years of history. Likened to an open-air museum for its magnificent architecture and heritage, we’ll discover Arles’ Roman Amphitheatre, Roman Theatre, St Trophimus square, the Place du Forum, and the Roman baths of Constantine.

After our time in Arles, we will continue by coach to an olive oil estate, where we will find a large orchard of 150,000 olive trees. Listen as the owners describe the cultivation and production of this incredible Provencal olive oil, before sampling the estate’s products. We then return to Arles by bus.

    Visit of Vienne

Explore the amazing Roman city of Vienne with our expert guides. This magnificent city boasts over 2,000 years of history, with the Allobrogi people thought to have made it their capital. However, it was the Roman era that saw the city prosper properly on both sides of the river Rhone.

Join us as we visit the Antique Theatre, built between 40 and 50AD. This theatre is thought to be one of the largest in the Roman Empire, with a diameter of 130m and an estimated capacity of 13,000.

Our tour will then continue to the Temple of Augustus and Livia, as we take in its exterior. Originally constructed around 20-10BC, the temple was later transformed into a church in the Middle Ages, to be restored to its original function in the second half of the 19th century.

We will then take in the wonderful exterior of the Cathedral of St Maurice, listed as a Historic Monument since 1840. After this, we will return to the ship at leisure.

    Visit of Viviers
Experience Viviers, the Rhone Alpes’ third-largest protected sector, and the residence of the bishops since the 5th century. This small town has a population of 3,500 and is known for its incredible history. Join us as we admire France's smallest cathedral in the medieval town centre, as well as discovering the Renaissance House of Knights, the Tower of St Michael, and the Belvedere, with its unobstructed views over Viviers.
